So, I’ve only had intermittent connection issues up until this point, which is to be expected in most any online multiplayer game from time to time. Over the pass few days, the disconnects have been occurring fairly regular mid-game. Today, every time I try to join a game, I get the error message “CONNECTION LOST: You have been disconnected from the local network.” This is not an issue with my local network or my internet. Every other online game I play works just fine. This is an issue with Halo 5. I’m going to reinstall the game and see if that fixes the issue.
Reinstalling the game seemed to fix my problem. I play in a house with another Xbox One playing Halo Guardians, and some people have reported an issue with multiple machines on one connection. I’ll report back on whether this continues to be a problem after both machines have reinstalled the game.

I’ve not disinstalled the game until now because i don’t want to lose the progress, but if this could fix this issue i’ll go for this solution straight away.
Well, it turns out that all of my problems were the result of a bad modem. We did reinstall the game on both Xboxes, but that did not fix our connection problems. I finally replaced my cable modem and that fixed my connection issues.

Have you had the same issue with other games? I am having issues with randomly getting disconnected, however, the error message I get is “Connection Lost: Your console has lost connection to the game server.”
I have never had this issue with any other game (Titanfall, COD AW, Madden 16, Star Wars Battlefront: Beta, Destiny, GTA V.) I would hate to spend more money on this game by buying a whole new modem, as the only reason I would need to purchase one would be to play this game. The internet works perfectly for everything else.
If it is an issue with the game being non-compatible with certain internet providers/modems, I wish 343 would address this by AT LEAST issuing a list of the non-compatible ones. I can’t bring myself to drop that kind of cash on this game and will have to try to get my refund if that is the case.
In addition, if that isn’t the case, then SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE 343. PLEASE.
I have been disconnected from about half the games I play. When I am disconnected it is completely arbitrary – it could be one minute into the match, in the middle, or even after the scoreboard has appeared. My other games work just fine online. It’s just Halo 5 that has had issues.
Seeing that multiple people are experiencing this issue tells me it’s on 343’s end. Perhaps it’s bad netcode, I don’t know. Either way, this is a community issue – meaning 343: please address it. If you’re playing an arena game, and a single teammate drops, that can obviously affects everyone (in particular who wins the match).
For this reason, parties and fireteams are useless to me until multiplayer becomes more stable, which increases the likelihood of my matching with bad teammates or teammates who are having connection issues themselves.
Seems to be happening to a lot of people recently hasn’t happened to me yet not like that at least.
This started happening to me yesterday. Played a couple games then no more. Today I haven’t got in a game yet. Don’t have any issues with any other network devices (phones, PCs, tablets) I am using Wi-Fi (5ghz). Only one Xbox in my house (had a second one here for a while but I’ve played for weeks just fine after). Anyone else have reports of this recently?
Also, when I run the network multiplayer troubleshooter in the dashboard settigs it says its fine as well.
Found out mine was disconnecting me every 3 games. Play 2 absolutely fine, no lag or anything and then the 3rd disconnects me as the game is on stage 4 of loading. It does it like this without fail, always every 3 games. Tried loads of fixes, like reinstalling. Hard reset. Applying dmz, port forwarding, enabling upnp, redownloading profile, resetting internet. Replacing Ethernet wires (I’m on a wired connection). Nothing has worked. Thinking it’s a memory issue rather than an internet issue due to the regularity of it.
Yeah same here I’ve done all the diagnostic tests and everything is fine. But, when I try to open multi-player it gives me the “connection lost”, message every game. I have done the hard resets and modem resets to no avail. So, I’m on my way to get a new modem even though my other games aren’t afflicted! Also just bought the game installed it yesterday!
i have the same problem last week was fine but in last 2-3 days every match every game mode i play im getting kicked out we need answers 343 respond what is the problem???
Doesn’t seem like 343 really cares at this point. They already made their money off us.
Yeah I am still getting disconnected all the time. Wireless works better than wired. … Riddle me that?! Also all other games work fine. If there is a specific set of settings we need to use then it should really be published.
