I was building a map in forge. I was ALMOST finished. Then I’m hit with “Connection Lost” and it boots me back to the menu. The thing is…I was completely alone. I was not building the map with anyone, this was me alone. How is it “connection lost” when there isn’t a damn connection to begin with?
You want to know what the worst part is? All my progress was erased. You think when the game kicks you out of Forge, they would’ve had a failsafe where you can immediately restart the “match” and continue where you left off. NOPE. Hours of work, completely gone.
I would like my map back, please. And then I want you to fix this travesty you call Halo 5’s forge. So now whenever I’m building a map by myself, I have to be cautious and afraid that the game is going to randomly erase whatever I made? Really? Yeah, that’s perfectly well-designed. It doesn’t matter how many “new” features you add, if the game itself is going to destroy your creations.
You spend nearly two extra months preparing Forge after Halo 5’s release, and somehow you left in all these disastrous glitches? That is NOT a connection issue. My internet works perfect on everything, unless there are severe weather issues (which there are not). And again, there can’t be an issue with your connection, when you’re not even connected in the first place.
Good job 343. Now I have to scour my friends list and try to persuade people into helping me rebuild my map, because I’m not spending hours alone on all that again. This bug needs to get patched, ASAP. There shouldn’t be any bugs like this at all, what’s your excuse 343?
As much as I loathe the fact that Forge somehow requires a server to function.
Didn’t you save a single time during those hours?
I messed around with forge trying to make a map, and I got so paranoid that I saved every minute, basically.
I feel your pain man If you want I can help you rebuild my GT is Gandalfur as it is here.
and YES!!! Forge needs to get the -Yoink- offline. We the fans demand an offline mode WHAT THE -Yoink- is this -Yoink-?
ONLINE ONLY FORGE? WHAT -Yoinking!- SENSE DOES IT MAKE??? WHY??? Get your -Yoink- together 343 Im a fan of halo 5 but this is -Yoink-

I do indeed make saves, but only occasionally, not on a frequent basis. I would accept the blame if it was a power outage or something, but the reason why I lost my progress was because of the poorly designed “netcode”, or whatever you want to call it.

I deeply appreciate the offer man. If you want, add my Xbox gamertag (Cyber Rexx). I’ll definitely give you half the credit for the map if you’d like, then maybe we could play together in the future.
OK ok, lets say Forge IS available for offline play. So you spend all those hours working on your map without saving. Then suddenly the power goes out.

> Rule number one of all video games: ALWAYS SAVE YOUR PROGRESS REGULARLY. But, no really, it happens to the best of us.
^. This right here. Haven’t you learned anything from any of your English teachers since Word was a plausible format for writing papers?
