All day I keep getting error messages reading “Attention- there was a problem with the Xbox Live Party Service. Please try again.” When I try to play anything online I get stuck at a “Connecting to lobby. Attempting to reach the Halo 5 Guardians Lobby Service” screen until it times out after a few minutes. Is anyone else having this problem? I’ve hard rebooted both my system and my router several times, and the network settings page on my Xbox says everything is connected without a problem. My friends list is online on the dashboard but barren in the game menu, and everything else on my Xbox is working fine.
Go to your Xbox settings then network settings. Switch to offline mode and then hard-rest console. Once the Xbox is loaded launch H5 (before connecting to XBL). Once the game is loaded and you are sitting at the screen that allows you to navigate between area, warzone, and campaign. Press the guide button on your controller, reconnect to XBL, full screen H5 again and try to get into area.
This allowed me to get into area. I’m just sitting in lobby at the moment (I have yet to try matchmaking). I’ve had this issue since I downloaded the update and this is the first time I’ve gotten past that endless screen.
