Can’t join friends game session in multiplayer. Click “JOIN GAME” and it attempts to join then fails. The message says “Connection Failed, Your connection to the game session has failed, please try again.” He gets the same error. Both of us are in the DMZ on our routers and playing from PC on Steam.

is this affecting all players? I am the only one in a group of 6 that cant seem to join a party. I have tried everything that reddit and halo forums have suggested, nothing has worked.

When I checked Halo MCC wasn’t on that list at the time of this post. I think a lot of people were throwing that around yesterday from what I was reading (scapegoat for real answers). Relays are off, they are off by default. Will try again today but not expecting good results.
When I posted, the service alert had been active for a while. There were an issue that took a while to clear up
Didn’t have a chance yesterday but just tried again and still not working . Checked service alert and nothing mentioning Halo MCC or xbox live, just purchase and content usage has an alert.
So i was having this issue for the past two weeks, tried opening NATs, changing settings, etc. I submitted at ticket to microsoft at this link https://support.halowaypoint.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.
Had to give them permission to look at my info and then had to fill out a bunch of boxes (i really provided minimal information) and submitted the ticket. 10 minutes later my friend who i had been trying to connect with got disconnected from xbox live, then 5 minutes later i did. We both had to reset our wifi to get back on the internet and after we WERE ABLE TO CONNECT!! Either absurd coincidence or microsoft reset both of our accounts on their and end fixed the problem. I recommend trying this and would love to hear if it works for you. Good luck.
