I just got the xbox one last night and assumed the game was going to work ok since they’ve released updates, but I can Not connect to a game. Anyone have any suggestions??

I had the same issue, I got an Xbox One just over a month ago and it takes a little while to find your first game. I suggest going through the different playlists and waiting in each one until you start finding people.
If your NAT is set to strict, then you’ll be restricted from all matches with a host. If you open your NAT with the instructions below, you should be able to join P2P matches.
