I keep getting into 150+ ms matches after the recent update. Players should be able to choose the region. Regional matchmaking has been an industry practice for over a decade! Banning geofiltering is not a solution. Players were forced to geofilter in the first place only because the matchmaking system is bad, not because they wanted to have an advantage over other players!

but at the same time, if they are to do that, then region selection like in MCC would be appriciated-

all of this could be fixed by simply removing their faulty system and just give us a damn region select. Problem solved.

Game played fine for me for 2 days after the update but tonight itās back to the same thing. High ping and tons of runnerbanding/desync. Itās even happening when I get into games where my ping is 40ms

This is why everyone finds 343ās Blogpost absolutely full of feces. People wanting to play their matches on optimal ping is not an advantage, itās a baseline need. 343 saying ādurr because of our system, geofiltering is used to give the user an advantage because durr our system does it in such a dumb wayā is such a joke.
343, DONāT MESS WITH YOUR PLAYERBASE. TELL US STRAIGHT IF YOU ARE WORKING ON OR EVEN INTENDING TO GIVE US THE MATCHMAKING SERVICE YOU HAVE PROMISED, OR SHUT YOUR GAME DOWN UNTIL YOU DO.

every btb match i get is inevitably 200+ ping lol. thats when i can actually even find a match because if im not playing at peak times (impossible because of my job hours) im screwed when it wasnt an issue before

Yup, for me the game is completely broken. Desync is horrible, went from high D6 diwn to D4. 1on1 are almost everytime a lossā¦ aim assist feels completely turned off. but heyā¦ ehat else is to be expected from 343?

Cancel Culture? Dude, if they need more time to fix their game, Iād rather they do that than leave it up and throw up cosmetics every week to bait people into spending money.
Thereās nothing cancel culture about this business : gameās fundamentally broken and needs serious work on making it an actual complete product before they can leave it on the shelf like this.

I donāt think 343i will be able to get rid of the desync issue with the game because itās played primarily over internet. This was a big challenge back in Halo 2 where if you had Host of the game you had such an advantage over the other players.

Host advantage is an entirely different thing than having the matches desynch.
I donāt recall firing rockets into an easy triple only to have none of them die despite them being in close proximity and nearly standing on the rocket explosion.
Needlers doing nothing, grenades barely scratching players etc.
Yes, Halo 3 had blood shots but it wasnāt nearly as prelevant as this game showcases it.

I donāt think they need to shut the game down until things get fixed. And I dont geofilter myself. But Iām also in the US. I get good ping almost every game. I donāt think itās a problem other players want the same. Geofiltering was a problem in Infinite, because it picked the players and a server before checking if that server was available. Go read their post about it. In other games instead of forcing everyone to play on Server C if a player was geofiltering, it would just pair the geofiltering player up with other local players. Which is how Infinite should do it. Or just add a server browser. This is something they need to do, or even more players are gonna leave. The community makes or breaks a multiplayer game. And right now the community is on decline.
