In my personal opinion, Halo 3 had the best multiplayer in the series. I’m biased as it’s the first online multiplayer I’ve played after only playing local MP and campaign in the first two games, and also since I’m a major BTB fan. But still, Halo Multiplayer has been doing a lot of things since Halo 3 that were very much not Halo. Beginning with Reach that abolished equal starts and added the annoying health system that slowed down gameplay, then Halo 4 which dialed the unequal starts to 11. Halo 5 was a step in the right direction but it only properly serviced the 4v4 Arena element of Halo (while also disappointing that hardcore fanbase with some mechanics that I, personally, quite enjoyed). Warzone was nice and all, but it wasn’t a good alternative to BTB and we literally had nothing else of the sort until 343i added fan-made maps into MP (which isn’t the same).
Now, BTB is back in a very big way and that really excites me. I love that 343i ignored most of the new additions (aside from clamber, slide, and sprint which I really don’t mind about) and went back to the game that the entire fanbase loved for inspiration. The new equipment is sure to be a hotly debated element among the fans, but from what they’ve been saying it appears to be single-use and found on the map, so I don’t think it will destroy the flow of the maps as some people are worried about. Plus, this is a live service game, which means the game will change over time. If the Grappleshot will be terrible they can remove it from the problematic Arena maps at our request.
I hope people will fall in love with your new multiplayer as I did with Halo 3. Cheers!

That’s the point. The visual feedback is overbearing. It’s very bright and distracting. Small nitpick but…these games are a sum of their parts.

I’m almost certain they gonna tone that down. I’m not even worried. Look how fast the changed the br reticle

They changed it already? Yea it didn’t look good lol. Not even a “ThAt DoeSn’t LooK LiKe HaLO” thing. The reticle was just straight unusable lmao. Again it’s a small nitpick but Toning that down would be nice. Surely these small things will be fixed once everyone plays the beta.

I think Halo Reach had the best shield pop. pretty visially noticeable, nice colour, loud clang (which i always thought was badass). It do think this looks terrible, the rest of what we’ve seen has been stunning, but this shield pop is just not right and can be done differently
After watching the Multiplayer Overview they just posted on the Halo YouTube channel I actually thought it looked a bit like Reach with the starting AR and some of the armour skins.
Agree it looks great; disagree that it looks like Halo 3. It’s closest to 5, with hints of 2 and 3. As Halo 2 is my favourite, I’m mostly pleased. A few things, like the effect of the Gravity Hammer, and the lack of Red vs Blue (easier to distinguish between friend and foe), could be tweaked. But overall, very positive about what we’ve been hearing.
Especially customisation. I was vocal about it, after the last information drop about it, with skins basically being all we were told. Now that we know it’s free-to-play, and with the model of Battle Pass, I’m happier. So long as there’s still a slew of pieces and skins to unlock for free, I’ll be happy.

They took the best from Halo 3 and Halo 5. (not a big fan of 5)
All that I am worried about is… they should have BR starts. Or people that want AR starts. Make it two playlists so people can play how they like for ranked.
Lastly, the maps need to be good… most Halo 5 maps are blehhhh. It’s too cluttered and too many rat holes.

The best from 3 was the community options, which I hope return. Gameplay and maps…Eh…I’m really not a fan of 3’s Multiplayer. The only one I’d play it over is CE’s. Definitely an unpopular opinion, I know.
If the Sidekick is like the Magnum in Halo 5, we don’t need BR starts. Halo 2 and 3 needed them because the Magnum had a different function in the sandbox.

You can spot a community tab in the menu with the rocket launcher background in the multiplayer overview video. I’m hoping it includes a file share browser for custom maps and modes.

Good spot. Let’s hope for that, yes. Halo is community – going all the way back to couch co-op. I hope 343 gives the tools to allow for it in Infinite.
> I honestly think 343 did a excellent job with Infinite. The gameplay is a classic halo with A LOT of fresh air,the maps are great, weapons are fun to use at first glance and the new equipment really looks like a halo classic. <3

i agreee, just hope the <rank system will be similar to Halo 3, like old 5 star GENERAL, so much respect! =) love the samurai armor btw, it reminds me Haybusa.
I have a few nit picks but overall the gameplay looks good. I could see myself playing this game for years to come as long as they don’t **** up the progression/unlock system.

I dread to think that someone prefers Halo 4, 5 and Reach over 3 but that’s the reality.
But no they already confirmed that it won’t be like 5. The sidearms are going back to being sidearms, knowledge we’ve gotten per the sandbox inside infinite.
Halo 3 is the best Halo. I’ve never played 5 so it will be a learning curve, but the more they make it like 3 in terms of feel and function, the better it’ll be as a whole I think.
