Confusion on the Infintiy

So i am confused a little on the ending of the campaign. It shows Master chief and Lasky on the bridge of the Infinity talking looking at earth. However, if you play Spartan Ops the Infinity is trapped by the piece of forerunner technology that they brought on board during spartan ops.

So did they go back to research the planet get stuck in the well, because spartan ops takes place after the end of Halo 4. So can someone shed some light on this.

My god, how on earth do people not know the BASIC STORY for Spartan Ops…

Spartan Ops takes place 6 months after the events of Halo 4.

You are aware that they went back to Earth, then came back to Requiem 6 months later, right?

The Infinity is just so long that after Lasky walked from the end where Master Chief was to the Bridge, that end was at Requiem.
