Confusion about the remastered maps

Hi,

In H2:A, I thought the entire game got a graphics update? Not just the campaign and 6 remastered maps. What’s the deal with that exactly?

for future reference just check other threads first, this has been asked and answered so many times on these forums. Just the campaign and 6 H2 maps are getting graphics updates from Halo 2. The other maps will be playable, but no graphical updates

The Halo 2 Campaign is being graphically remastered (possibly audio as well) with CGI cutscenes being entirely redone by Blur.

The 6 remastered/reimagined maps are being done by the original maker of the maps on a modified next gen (aka, modified Halo 5) engine. They will feature gameplay similar to Halo 2’s, specifically tuned as such, but it will not be Halo 2’s actual multiplayer. The Halo 2 original multiplayer is also available, but will not be receiving a graphical update.

It’s getting the same anniversary treatment (actually more, given the cutscene remakes) as Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. Full campaign remastering, but the remastered multiplayer is done on the latest engine.

I couldn’t tell you why they’re not graphically updating the multiplayer, but I don’t particularly have a problem with it either.

All the original maps are getting a 1080p and 60FPS upgrade.

So they will look sharper, but how sharper could Bloodgulch from HCE look. It is now pretty outdated graphics (2001).

It would had be more awesome if all maps got the update, but that would had been a huge under taking I would think.

Well, we have always wanted classic back, 343 have delivered. Have to be happy with that.

I think playing HCE and H2, even though they may look so pretty now, will bring back great memories and also we can see the massive improvements when playing H3, H4 and H2 remastered maps.

This is a great thing.
