confirmed. No theater for campaign/ops ever!!

What a shame, and 343i said months ago they were going to add it.

Instead we get a list of someone’s reasons why they are a camper. This is really disappointing news, I was under the impression we were going to have theater because 343i said they were working on it, not it just seems that was just talk.

Give them time to work on it, but this really should have come with the game.

Again, I lean towards thinking that Microsoft rushed them to beat CoD.

Well Bungie originally made Halo and their decision to leave Halo was because they wanted to do other things than working on the same game for 10 years. The philosophies of 343i and Bungie are vastly different in what kind of game they want to ship and why they want to ship it. Bungie could of kept making Halos forever, guaranteed money, but they wanted their freedom do design and create what they wanted.

343i promised us over and over theater would be in campaign and spartan ops, now they have just said they are not working on it at all. That should be disheartening that they would take their word back. I think it would be better to just not promise anything.

But remember, 343i is also not an individual studio, it is a division of the Microsoft gaming studio and IS Microsoft.

I’m very disappointed 343, very disappointed.

That is true, I do remember them saying we would get theatre. They also promised a classic playlist at the start.

aww I would be deeply appreciative if you would refrain from speaking. they didnt say that bs angle said something along the lines of she will look into it and as i can see like everything on here peeps over react you being a PRIME~!!! example. After she said she would look into it and not that they were working on it a couple of weeks passed and then that bulliten came with people 343 appologizing and they said they will do better as seen with the recnt competative settings released and improvmenst withs spartan ops and playlist its obvious the took the smart path lets make the game fun for everyone first instead of some machinam despenser.

"We don’t currently have plans" does not equal “No, ever”.

They said were not working on it at the moment out of all the things that people are rageing about on every freaking Halo forums pertaining to the gameplay and playlist and you belive because they didnt decide to focus on thing that wouldnt make people want to actully play the game more that wouldnt get people supporting it again. Yes its sad that its not being worked on RIGHT NOW!!! but it will be worked on there takeing on the biggest problems first and then they will get to other issues.

Yeah, they don’t plan on making it, most likely never. It is taking them months to add a ranking system and months to add community maps, you wonder how long it would take them to make theater which is a feature employees have PROMISED they ware working on but now we find out they have no plans to bring it to us. So basically, they LIED about working on theater and bringing it back for Spartan Ops/Campaign.

The fact is, they went against their word and it is a terrible thing to do as a game designer or a business of any kind.

By the time it would be finished, Halo 5 would probably already be out or they would all be working on that. At this point, with no plans to work on it, it is safe to say it is never coming.

Meh nothing of value was lost.

> Meh nothing of value was lost.

What an absolute joke. I bet if they said they are working on 1-50 and then said later they have no plans for it you all would be really mad. The worst thing about this is they said over and over again that Theater would be coming for Spartan Ops/Campaign, something we have had functioning since ODST.

Sigh you guys are acting like little children that overreact when they want something but the parent cant right now becuase they have to focus on more NEEEDED things. Its not being worked on right now DOES NOT MEAN NEVER and really Halo 5 wont be comeing out in the next 3 years plenty of time.

Halo 5 is probably coming out next year or a few months after that (2 year development cycle). I don’t think I am acting like a child and that is not a very good justification of an argument to go against me. here are the facts, 343i claimed they were working on this but now we find out they had no plans currently to incorporate theater. This is disheartening seeing what they promised us they were doing. And I like how after all that the follow up response was how the girl that posted that said she was a camper, thinking that would help bandage the wounds of deceit.

I’m personally fine with it, but I know that many others are left disappointed. I hardly use Theater for anything other than the occasional campaign fail or cool moments in Multiplayer.

Trust me i know how hard and long it can take to make a game if you belive its coming out next year then you obviously have game development all wrong.

I think it’s funny that you guys are shocked and surprised when they go back on their word. This game is one giant empty promise in their efforts to keep everyone whining for more. They got their money, they couldn’t care less at this point for what we want. Time to move on people. There are other, better games out there

Really because I assume they have been working on Halo 5 probably since before halo 4 was finished. They probably have the entire story planned out and are making the game on a modified Halo 4/Reach engine that will be compatible with the next xbox. It is funny to think they have time to add all these “updates” to Halo 4 when they are working on Halo 5. The things they are promising to add are not little updates, they are adding new systems to the game like rankings, etc and that probably takes a lot of time.

But if Halo 5 is coming out in 1.5-2 years, why would they work on theater for this game? That is probably what they thought t=after they promised it to us.

> I think it’s funny that you guys are shocked and surprised when they go back on their word. This game is one giant empty promise in their efforts to keep everyone whining for more. Destiny Awaits

Think about it this way. Go look through the Halo 4 forums and try to compile a list of every single “problem” with this game. That’s a pretty big list. Now look through it and figure out where campaign/spartan ops theater mode would rank on it. Probably not very high.

Theater mode is a quality of life feature. It’s not necessary to play the game and enjoy it. Can it make the game more enjoyable? Yes, of course. Does the lack of it ruin the fun of Halo? Absolutely not.

Keep in mind 343 is looking into and trying to fix whatever problems we bring to them (and yes, they are. Just cause they don’t post every single move they make on the forums doesn’t mean they’re ignoring the playerbase and what we say), while also working on the next 4 Spartan Ops episodes, the next Spartan Ops season, and Halo 5, a completely different game. Give them a bit of slack, when they get to theater mode, they will get to it.
