Confidence in 343i and New Playlist Updates.

At the beginning of Halo 4 I was skeptical about how the game would actually turn out.
We all know, including 343 themselves, have made mistakes with the game, but they are turning out things and improving the game gradually.
I now change my mind about the game and see potential with it and if they keep doing what they are currently doing, then this game will be great.

The game only catered towards casual gamestyles from the beginning but with the release of the Community Forge Map playlist (now gone), the game started on a competitive run.

Now that Team Doubles is out and I am able to run it with my Doubles partner, this game has become a whole new experience to me and truly does play like Halo 2 and Halo 3 much more than Reach ever did. I hope that Team Doubles does continue to stay in the WarGames playlist section.

Also, with the upcoming release of a new and improved Team Snipers playlist and Team Objective playlist this Monday, this game is sure to be far more greater than it was from the release and I know plenty of others who feel the same.

With playlists like such, it gives the game two playing fields for both kinds of gamers giving everyone a chance to play how they want to play in turn making everyone happy.

Just so everyone knows too, here are some of the things you will find in the new playlists:

Mode: Team Snipers
Teams: 4 vs. 4
Score to Win: 600 [60 Kills]
Loadouts: UNSC Sniper Rifle Only
Instant Respawn: Disabled
Death Cam: Disabled
Motion Tracker: Disabled
Ammo: Unlimited
Time Limit: 12 Minutes
Personal Ordnance: Disabled
Grenades: Disabled
Ordnance Drops: Disabled

There will also be a Shotty Snipes mode that will occasionally show up for choosing.

Mode: Shotty Snipers
Teams: 4 vs. 4
Score to Win: 600 [60 Kills]
Primary: UNSC Sniper Rifle
Secondary: Shotgun
Instant Respawn: Disabled
Death Cam: Disabled
Motion Tracker: Disabled
Ammo: Unlimited
Time Limit: 12 Minutes
Personal Ordnance: Disabled
Grenades: Enabled
Ordnance Drops: Disabled

These settings will appeal to diehard sniping fans by offering a playlist that focuses on one thing - sniping.
With no radar, grenades, ordnance or secondary weapons, you can be sure that the better marksmen will come away with victory.

For Objective fans out there, with Team Objective on the way you can expect KoTH to be returning, along with Team Oddball and CtF with the addition of Team Regicide.

Some of the new features will be that instead of 5v5 like before, it will now be 4v4. Instant respawn has been disabled for KoTH and Team Oddball as well. There is also no more Oddball on Complex.

Team Throwdown is also a new playlist planning to be released.
As of right now, Team Throwdown, their premiere competitive playlist, is scheduled for release on February 18th.
This playlist will be launching ahead of CSR so the Matchmaking team has time to tweak the playlist’s settings and options before everyone begins the race to level 50.

Some news about Team Doubles is also out there as some of you may know.
There is no more instant respawn in Infinity Doubles anymore due to it causing issues with spawn points and of course the maps being smaller and it causing disadvantages to teams.
Also, personal ordnance has been tweaked to fit with a 2v2 playlist as of last night. There will be no more Incineration Cannons, Rocket Launchers, Snipers, Overshields, etc for personal ordnance drops.
However, this does not mean that these weapons and items will not be in Team Doubles, you can still acquire them if they are set on the map.

The SWAT playlist will also be sticking around for another week.

Quote from 343i about the Majestic Map pack:
“Majestic, in all of its small-sized map glory, is looking fabulous. We’ve been playtesting the heck out of it and have also shown it to press (and even some friends from across the pond this morning), and reception has been overwhelmingly positive.
We’re getting close to lifting the curtain on this particular map pack, so sit tight for details and you will soon be rewarded for your patience.”

According to Bravo (343i employee and former professional coach/pro), Team Doubles, Team Snipers, Team Throwdown, and Team Objective are here to stay.

So, it finally looks like 343 Industries is paying attention and responding to the community and I hope to see a continuation of this.
As a Halo player for 9 years, I would hate to see this great series go down hill, but i have confidence in 343 that they can continue the amazing series.

At least they are heading away from instant respawns…

I like the optimism. I feel 343 will make Halo 4 better and better down the stretch.

They are definitly going in the right direction and i have high hopes for halo 5. But i wish they would just tell us when CSR will launch and give us these dates already.

They kind of did already, sometime in April, likely mid-end of April. So you’ve got a ways to go yet before that.

Don’t know why you care that much though, it’s only going to be on Waypoint.

Yeah, same here. I’m sure they will release a date soon.

Although I remain skeptical regarding 343’s definition of a “small map,” in light of this most recent bulletin I definitely share your optimism regarding the future of Halo 4. Though many will say it’s too little too late, 343 finally appear to be listening to their fans.

I can’t wait for the new playlist. Team Throwdown will quickly become my favorite playlist. I truly believe Halo 4 is finally getting its footing. The core of the game is great, and now they are dumping some of the garbage around it, it can only get better.

What drama queens.

Agreed. 343i is definetly making good decisions and moving in the right direction.

Bravo is helping out a lot too, and its great to see 343i moving with his suggestions.

Wait really that far away…if it is only on waypoint what the -Yoink- is the point?

I don’t really think it’s too late. It can be turned around.

Its up to the remaining community members to bring people back too as things get better and better and also keep up with informing 343 how they can make Halo 4 better with what they have at their disposal with the biggest challange of all being balancing infinity slayer’s ordinance.

I’m still skeptic about the way Halo 4 is going, could be good, could be bad. I learned after Reach to not get my hopes up for a game that I have yet to see top Halo 2.

Well, we all know Halo 2 will always be the best.
At least us that had the chance to play it from the beginning on XbL.
I miss those days.

Which is why people need to stop complaining in a manner that’s only bashing 343 and instead come up with ideas to help the game.
