concerns about e3 and the new forerunners

The new forerunner don’t follow the well known style that their famous for. It really seems like Michael Bay was allowed to choose their look and sounds. Think about it for a moment, even the smallest forerunner robots can fly, but now we see robodogs attacking chief. This is very unlike the forerunners and very much like some -Yoink- from a transformers film or the reapers from mass effect, a few animalistic robots make some loud synthesized noises and then die quickly and conveniently. Lame and unoriginal.

Despite the obvious influence from metroid prime, this concept seems like a much more authentic forerunner look.

After mentioning metroid I’ve realized the biped forerunners are a close imitation of the chozo.

Chozo warriors, transformer robodogs, with mass effect guns and sound. Imitation and innovation both start with an i, but only one is good. Only Caboose and 343i don’t know that.

Also why does Cortana have to state the obvious about a dozen times within the first two minutes? Chief isn’t clueless and neither are we.

The Promethean Knight is Megatron.

The “Forerunner look” you are used to is all abandoned forerunner technology and ancient temples. The Forerunner stuff looks different because it’s alive and still working and stuff.

Also anybody else noticed that there are over 9000 people on this forum as opposed to the usual 50-500?

Yeah…This is the storm all those people enjoying the calm were talking about…

Are you implying that they were stagnating the whole time and so they have to look identical. Hell, spartans don’t look like I remember them from Halo CE. They should remake everything after.
As for the grounded bots, it’s pure gameplay. It wouldn’t be that colorful if you just got lot’s of flying stuff. Gameplay should always be above canon.

Remember, these things aren’t the forerunners themselves, but Prometheans (defensive AI), something we haven’t seen before and therefore don’t really have anything to compare them to.

Also, the War Sphinx in that picture is fan art. Although it does look cool, you can’t argue that it’s canon.

-NUT

THEY AREN’T FORERUNNERS.

Promethean Knights, Crawlers, Watchers etc aren’t Forerunners. Promethean Knights are supposed to be warriors (Elite Class) Crawlers (Jackal Class) Watchers (Grunt Class)

Well that’s how I’m looking at it anyway. X3

But since their built by the forerunners they shod look like forerunner technology, these look completely different. They look like chozo, and 343i DID hire a producer that worked on the metroid games.

It’s been 100,000 years since the Forerunner’s built all the technology and buildings we’ve seen so far. Perhaps they have changed their style? Humans do it constantly.

Exactly. You honestly think everything the Forerunner’s built are going to look the same? Humans have lots of different styles, and I would say Forerunner’s do aswell - espicially compared to technology hundreds of thousands years old.

We still have not seen a forerunner war sphinx yet so . . .
