There’s a bunch of stuff (special sauce) going on behind the scenes that we don’t want to talk about, but it shouldn’t be possible to luck yourself into an elite rank. Also, while you won’t drop CSR ranks (Gold to Silver, for example) based on losses, your MMR is continually adjusted to ensure appropriate skill matching. And while we feel confident about the system we are launching with, this is something we will continue to evaluate and tweak season-to-season."
This was posted on TeamBeyond.net, because people were concerned that just because someone won, they would be placed in the top tiers. This sort of proves that they also take into account more stats, and skill.
