I am going to be keeping a close eye on the challenges.
I played some Tac Slayer with some friends earlier to warm up before the event and they all played like…well, I won’t say it here but let’s just say, if the progression is not casual friendly, I don’t think this is going to be a good event.
The majority of the community are casuals, so if the event requires you to be good at Tac Slayer, it is not going to end well
I’ve learned with 343 to set your standards low if you don’t want to be disappointed. I’d be surprised if the challenges aren’t quite painful for quite a few players.
Hell, you can even be good at the mode but if the servers are crap you’re screwed.
I’ll probably just do the event then go back to BTB once I’ve unlocked everything. It’ll probably be really intense though at the start like it was with attrition or whatever that game mode was.
Tactical Slayer aka SWAT isn’t a casual friendly gamemode…let’s face it, that’s why the AR is so OP in Halo Infinite. All my friends have quit the game already but when there was 8 of us, there was only myself and one other that enjoyed SWAT.
The main reason being is that most casual/low level players are generally pretty terrible at aiming for the head. It will obviously be different for higher ranked players, but if you’re an average player you only have to look at the post game stats to see how few headshots other players got in the game (its a stat I’ve always paid attention to in order to determine skill levels and I’m usually the player with the most headshots).
There may be a minor surge in population for this event but it won’t last long.
I’m decent at swat… I had a 48 in halo 3 in swat (was always more of an objective/doubles 50 type) but I don’t really enjoy swat. is that weird? I’m good at it I just don’t like it. -shrugs-
