Concerned about T Rating Will it lack Grittyness?

Hey guys am I the only one whose not thrilled about this “T” rating? Right out the gate they’re just like, “Hey you know that super badass and gritty tone Halo: CE had? Yeah you’re not getting that we prefer teenagers using their parents credit cards than our millennial (main target) and older audience with actual cash.” The main audience for Halo is mature, and even the teenagers who play it will enjoy the thrill of getting their hands on an “M” rated game. That was part of the fun back in the day. I really enjoyed the Beta honestly, but not happy about this rating. I know it seems like a superficial matter, but it’s not. There’s a certain tone that this game’s campaign will not be able to achieve due to these limitations. If anything, they should have made the Multiplayer “rated T for Teen” and had the campaign be “rated M for Mature” w/ blood and all the normal Halo glory we’re accustomed to. I mean Call of Duty doesn’t have a problem selling so I don’t see what the technical are regarding demographics but I do believe this is a massive error on both 343 and Microsoft’s part. Cater to your audience, not your teens w/ more pimples than cash.

I’ve mentioned this issue for me, too. And I think you’re right, it’s to appeal to the kiddes with mommy and daddy’s credit cards to buy those sweet MTX. It’s all about $$$ for 343i, they don’t really care about the fans. Still, Infinite will make them boatloads of cash and will break records. Is what it is.

I hope they do something about the lack of blood and gore, or at least release something where it allows us to toggle the blood on.

I don’t see why the multiplayer would need to be rated M.

why would you bleed through energy shields AND armour? Gibbing would feel out of place for halo. It needs to be violent, but not CE and 2 levels of blood.

The campaign blood i think should be around maybe 3 or Reach levels, and only use higher levels as storytelling tools, like in 343 guilty spark in CE.

I’ve still been all for a toggle for gore and that it would reach the levels the comics portray, and novels describe. I understand not going overboard when Halo hasn’t had extreme levels of gibs like Gears, but I feel like if I launched a round out of my SRS-99 and hit a grunt smack-dab in his noggin’, half of his body ought to be all over the Jackal behind him.

I don’t think the original games deserved their M ratings tbh. I’ve the flood may have played a role in M ratings, but that doesn’t explain why reach has one

If they made the game they wanted and it received a T rating, then I have absolutely no problem with it.

However, if they purposefully cut content or made alterations to the game they actually wanted to make just so they could secure a T rating, then it would bother me.

Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll ever get confirmation which situation it is and we’ll just have to judge it on its own merits when it releases.

Don’t worry. If I’m playing multiplayer it will be M. I curse like a sailor.

I’m hoping the T rating doesn’t scuff the flood (if they appear) and doesn’t water down the dialogue too much to where it doesn’t feel like a realistic conversation for someone in a war (Rated T: “Those darn covenant!” Rated M: “Damn covies!” hoping this isn’t the case).

I believe the reasons behind getting a T rating are irrelevant, the problem remains, its rated T

hahaah well said my guy

Doesn’t exactly bode well for a possible inclusion of the flood as they are literally “body horror”, is it possible that a T rated game can have M rated dlc? Putting the flood aside I think I can live with a T rating, no blood staining the environment is a shame but looks like we’ll still see blood spurting out while shooting an enemy?

Have to wonder if T is what they were specifically gunning for or if they kinda just fell into it naturally minus maybe some minor alterations. There’s nothing about this game’s plot itself that we know would require an M rating for example so I think it mainly comes down to explicit visuals like blood and gore, reanimated corpses etc.
