Medicant Bias (The composer) is dead, there is no way he can be in Halo 4, he died on the Ark.
I thought you meant Neil Davidge at first.
> I thought you meant Neil Davidge at first.
Haha
- Nothing points to Mendicant Bias being the/a composer.
- Nothing points to Mendicant Bias being “dead”, as he was fragmented.

- If you read primordium you would know that Chakas was transferred into Spark by Medicant Bias
Halo: Primordium 355
Chakas: “How badly damaged was I?”
Didact: “Badly - physically and mentally.” the Didact said. “Extraction of the imprint was quick and brutal - a hallmark of Mendicant Bias. The Master Builder never understood how to utilize the Composer.”
This seems to imply that Mendicant Bias had control over the extraction method. Quick and brutal extraction was his hallmark. These two lines in sequence seem to imply the Composer is a function of Mendicant Bias and/or Mendicant had the ability to use the Composer.
- In a Halo 3 terminal, Medicant Bias says his time is up, there is no proof that he is dead but it’s the safest bet that he died on the ark when 04b fired.
Evil demon you there?
> This seems to imply that Mendicant Bias had control over the extraction method. Quick and brutal extraction was his hallmark.
exactly. MB must have had control of the Composer. but that does not mean that he is the Composer.
and the Composer still exists, hence a Level being named after it.

He could be, or could have had control, best bet is that there were multiple composers, and one survived on requiem, i think he transferred the souls of the old organic promethean knights into AI’s to defend the planet without getting infected by the flood.
You forgot that its very probable that Mendicant Bias transported the remaining fragment of himself into Cortana while she fought to delay the launching of the Forerunner dreadnought.
And then theres the possibilites that the composer could be operated manually, or another AI would have had control, etc. etc.

No, he was on the ark

Yes, and he got there because the Forerunner Dreadnought was transported there. Cortana had to fight Mendicant Bias (or the fragment of him) to delay the launch of the dreadnought.
In the proceeding events Mendicant Bias was carried through the Voi portal to Installation 00, where the missing shard was finally reunited with the part that resided in the Ark’s systems. On the Ark, it attempted to communicate with the Master Chief through Terminals, claiming it sought atonement by helping the Spartan. Exactly what form that assistance took is uncertain.

He told us his time is up, he is dead.

Perhaps even though dead, Mendicant Bias has left a path for the Master Chief to follow and show the Forerunners that Mendicant Bias, even though dead has changed since betraying his prior masters.

Yeah, I know, just saying that a part of him was also on the Dreadnought to begin with.
That aside, I doubt Mendicant Bias was the only one who had access to the Composer. Altough its hard to speculate at this time as we don’t even know exactly what “The composer” is.

Yeah, I just wander where that path leads to, and how the Forerunners will react

Maybe he is sending chief to the didact as an apology, or something, i have a feeling the ancient evil is some sort of Precursor threat, it has to be, Didact/Librarian wouldn’t harm Humans, if they’re even alive still, Faber might, but none of these are actual “Ancient” compared to the precursors, in silentium’s description it says that a great act of barbarism is what created the flood, maybe theres a threat we haven’t heard of yet, maybe this new threat, was the reason the rings were finally activated.
God I can’t click on one thread about the composer without thinking of Neil Davidge
