Compliments and critique from a" complainer"

Slayer pro actually seems really fun, I am thoroughly enjoying it at the moment. Here is a list of what I have found great so far.

I LOVE the DMR, I actually prefer weapons with low aim assist as I have good finger/thumb control and coordination meaning that I am much better suited to low aim assist weapons. I actually really dislike the BR now, It has too much aim assist up close and it feels “clunky”. Currently I’m regarding the BR the “Noob” weapon as it seems it’s used greatly, this could be down to nostalgia of the BR being back or because it’s “easier” to use. (Although I can’t stand it now, this is coming from someone who was very much opposed to the BR being a 5sk and not a 4sk)

The lack of Bloom on the DMR is very much appreciated, I’m actually capable of beating more than one player at one time, something that was possible in Halo 2 and 3 but not Reach. I haven’t had many scoped kills yet as I actually rather enjoy the low aim assist it has when not scoped. Close-Mid range fights are rather enjoyable because of this. As I said in my above paragraph I really dislike aim assist, It’s the bane of me, why? Because I don’t feel like I have control when there’s too much aim assist, with the new BR it feels like I have little control over it, it feels too heavy and I can’t aim precisely with it. Where as with the DMR I feel like I have full control of the weapon.

Bleedthrough! Thank the Heavens that they re-implemented it. The game feels so much more fluid with it, this addition makes the game feel much more akin to Halo 2 and 3. I’ve yet to be “double pummeled” Someone attempted to do it to me in my first game, but I just cut him/her down completely.

I don’t know why people are complaining about the grenades being too weak. I find the grenades useful, have gotten kills with them and pulled off a few nice manoeuvres with them. Such as rebounding them off walls as you lure your opponent towards you as you retreat/back away. They’re no where near as powerful as the pocket nukes that were in Reach, this was one of many issues I had with Reach, Overpowered grenades. I’d say the grenades are somewhat similar to Halo 3. However I haven’t been able to test the physics with them yet, so whether or not the physics are as awesome as the grenades in CE (I doubt that) remains to be seen. I would really love to see the physics being like CE’s grenades, the tricks you could pull off with them was immense.

Jump height and player speed are a much needed change from the ludicrously slow gameplay that was present in Reach. The jump height and distance is like Halo 3, you’re more than capable of pulling off effective jump shots ect. I haven’t tried Ghandi hopping yet but from the looks of things, it seems very possible, I’ll be surprised if it’s not.

-More points to come (including criticism) after I’ve played it more.
