The plasma pistol in Halo Infinite is literally trash. I think it desperately needs a complete revamp to be good again; functionality, and appearance.
Delete the disruptor’s lasting affect, and give it more damage, give the plasma pistol emp back and increase single shot damage.

Imo would be cool if the plasma shots slows down movement abit when youre shot too. Kinda like in halo 1. It made it feel like a much better weapon imo. But i dont really expext 343 to actually care lol. It feels like they are clueless when it comes to what fans want from a halo game. Halo hasnt been the same with them making it. Its like they think they have to follow all the trends that other games do to make it a good game. Just feels like its so influenced by cod now instead of making halo stay true to its style.
Halo infinite imo has the wierdest weapon selection of all the halo games. Lacks several classic weapons loved by halo fans, and adds several new bad ones. They could have atleast tried to make the plasma pistol useful instead of just using it for the charge shot.
Considering plasma already has precedent for disrupting movement, like the Plasma Rifle’s disruption on aiming and Plasma Pistol disrupting vehicle movement, having slowing shots would give plasma a good identity on its damage type. Hell, extend this to the Pulse Carbine. Furthermore, I’d even go as far as having the charged PP shot completely nullify movement form Spartans for like 1s.
Fully agree. Improve plasma tracking AND increase plasma velocity. Thankfully, 343 did mention in their Season 1 feedback blog post that they were looking into buffing the PP, Pulse Carbine, and VK-78 in the next round of balance updates.
It’s fun to mess around with to try and nail “noob combos”, but not really viable in tight ranked matches against skilled players who will easily sidestep it.
