Completely opinionated view on forums and H4

This is kind of a rant. Not a negative rant or completely positive either but its pretty long.

I’m tired of coming on here and seeing words in thread titles like overcomplicated or unbalanced. Or seeing threads begging for a reprieve from AAs. Some days I don’t even want to come here because I’m sure some post on page 1 is gonna make me loose a little more faith in the community. I don’t exactly agree with all the additions to Halo 4 but I do see how they could work in game and be beneficial. And because of this I’m willing to see how it turns out. When Halo 4 was announced I didn’t want a Halo 3 clone. I wanted something to burn Reach to the ground. Halo 4 does this by taking AAs and loadouts and improving them and adding balance. Ordinance drops,IMO add an element to Halo missing in previous titles, spontinuity. Now you don’t exactly have to wait for the power weapons to drop, you gotta work for an extra one but you can get a shotgun or railgun or ect. and suprise the crap out of some poor soul. Specializations, I think they are appropriate for team based gametypes which is just about every gametype. They can allow for tighter and more effective teamwork without making any individual any better at killing someone. They slightly modify gameplay in a productive way that when implemented properly can improve the flow of the game. The number of weapons is growing and I hope it doesn’t become a tren for future titles. I’m a fan of new personally not more. CoD has the more guns issue where when you look at it they’re all basically capable of exactly the same thing all you gotta do is shoot first and the poor guy rounding the corner is reduced to kibble. Halo’s gunplay isn’t like this. If the guy rounding the corner has a shred of skill more than the guy walking his way factor in the possibility he pays attention to his motion tracker then he has a chance to come out on top. Theres actually some skill involved there. You have to actually be good at Halo to do good in Halo. Sure you can get lucky but most of the time if a player is better than you, you will die. CoD is nothing like this and never will be which is why I can’t stand people saying “Enjoy your space CoD” In CoD you can pick the game up having never played and if you are any good at shooters in general guess what, You’ll probably be good at cod. You just gotta aim down sights and react at a decent time. Halo not so much. (I know I’m milking this comparison but I need this out of my system) Halo you gotta be able to hit targets moving in dynamic ways, strafing, jumping, ect. In CoD you aim down sights and its like you got lead weights in your shoes. You are shooting at a slow moving target and so is your enemy, boring! Halo has vehicular combat which I believe was best in Halo 3. Not that I though vehicles in Reach were wimpy. Really, who decided to make the banshee bomb so OP?n I halo 3 the banshee bomb flipped vehicles. In reach it obliterates them, the only excuse was a sniper could take a banshee out no prob in Reach. I’m not gonna say that Halo 4 is gonna be the totally epic savior of shooters I would like it to be. I can’t say it will be better than Halo 2 or 3, but I can say that it might be. (definitely beats reach) There are a few marked concerns I have such as armor mods and specializations. Promethian vision is another. But then I look at the facts of things that go on. Three years in production, 343’s constant monitoring of Reach. The fact that many people at 343 have been a part of design teams at companies that have produced awesome games. The fact that Frankie went from Bungie’s franchise lead to 343’s. I hope Halo 4 will turn out good, I have seen nothing indicating it won’t. But most of all I want Halo 4 to take the potential it has and use it to make Halo better than ever.

Your Wall of text makes me cringe
however, I agree with you to the most part (at least what you said in the first paragraph)

I’m assuming you mean the part before the CoD comparison? Yeah after that it was pent up issues with some vehicular combat comparisons of Reach and Halo 3. But still totally opinionated. Based on preference. In no way fact. Another issue people have.

> (at least what you said in the first paragraph)

yeah… Um where is that paragraph?

I don’t know how Promethean Vision got past the drawing board.

“Let’s give people wallhacks”
“…OKAY SOUNDS GREAT”

Seriously?

Anyway, everything else about Halo 4 is fine by me.

China called… yadda yadda you know the drill.

Paragraphs, heard of 'em?

I feel obligated to point out, as has been done before, that dividing that into paragraphs would make it easier to read.

I do, however, agree with what you said for the most part, except for one thing: I’m decent at pretty much every shooter except Call of Duty…

A rant is not an excuse to not use paragraphs.
