Here it comes again, Another loop of “343i promises more communication then fall into silence completely”.
Plz, Splitscreen coop glitch shows it’s more polished than theater and custom game mode, and more stable framerate on VCR Xbox one than Cyberpunk 2077. What is keeping dev away from polishing and delivering these features ?
343i’s community team literally hype this update and probably thought it would be a W. In reality it destorys the only hopium left in this game for a lot of ppl who is still playing and “Halo is dead” now is all over the internet.
Plz communicate about this.
This glitch is probably one of the worst PR things to happen to Infinite.
They won’t. Been begging them for mcc pc split screen for years. They added it to the backlog a few years back and haven’t said a word since. Judging by the update to the site side FAQ it seems as if mcc pc split screen was silently cancelled so they could avoid the people asking about it like what’s going on no for infinite. Company is a joke and judging by way things have been going if we get any support for infinite past 2023 I’ll be shocked. 343s name means one thing to me. 3 steps forward and 43 steps back.
Edit.
Just Wait until you get the people bashing on you saying it’s a garbage feature that has no point existing today. This is what the younger halo community thinks about split screen which is another large reason we won’t get it. 343 is still chasing the fans that don’t exist rather than appeasing the dedicated 21+ year fans of the franchise who’ve been here the whole time.
Yeah, I’m not sure how campaign got released back in November 2021 and now August/September 2022 that split screen is still not available. I honestly have no idea what goes into it, but I’d think by now it would be ready to ship.
I think it comes down to that they don’t think they will sell enough new copies of the campaign if they ad it. But the multiplayer content will give them lots of money.
It really says something that the store items are the one thing that are never delayed.
They usually just ignore us,
I did a video about this on my channel where I explained why I think 343 will want to patch this as soon as they can. As they’ve decided to can split-screen, they won’t want players using a work around to still achieve this, especially as they’ve publicly said they are not going to officially add it.
It will get patched at some point. How long that will take is unknown.
maybe they will comment on it at some point.
they still haven’t fixed all the issues with playing custom games offline. only campaign is playable offline at the moment on both consoles and pc.
keep checking the multiplayer issues page every few days but no sign of it being updated yet…
maybe once network co-op is available that’ll all be fixed as it was also broken in the co-op flight.
How well can the Xbox One consoles handle the glitched split screen multiplayer? I’m under the impression that because they couldn’t get it to work there the way they wanted it too that they decided no one will get it. So it doesn’t alienate that community from the rest of us.
Not to mention all the people on PC’s that claim to have high end rigs that seeming can’t handle single-player campaign themselves for, whatever reason.
How are people reporting that they’re getting split screen to work for them?
I’m on series x and can see no such option. I don’t understand.
Check reddit.
People there have been exploring it on all the consoles with varied success
just wish the glitch was a bit more simple because at the moment you need to have either a friend online in the menus when you want to play splitscreen or if you have a pc and console, sign-in on the pc copy of infinite and idle in menus and make sure it’s friended on xbox
then you can do it without a friend online, instead you have fake friend online.
they seriously need to reconsider adding splitscreen again since it goes against what they said post halo 5.
they learnt their lesson and then unlearnt it.
just sounds like some non gamer people at the top decided it wasn’t worth pursuing because all that matters is multiplayer and raking in the profits from that.
i hate it when finanical gain gets in the way of decision making. all we get is bad decisions and they get a boat load of money…
sounds fair.
I just don’t get that last part. I noticed most of the performance issues i’ve seen all center around newer hardware. Played through Infinite on my old trusty running an ancient i-7 3770k paired to a intel xtreme dz77ga with 32gb 2400 and a 1070ti. The game played beautifully from beginning to end for both campaign and multiplayer as well as all the flights I took part in. Sure the occasional stutter here and there but I was spared most of the performance issues others were having. It’s a shame because I did enjoy the campaign and mp (minus the monstrosity that is the store) it’s just without split screen so I can play with my kid I won’t be back. I’ve been begging for split screen pc for mcc these past 3 years and now infinite since early flighting started. PC can run nucleus flawlessly (though i prefer xenia). Give us split screen all around 343.
I want Split Screen.
I want to play with my brother. my nephew. It’s the soul of halo.
I want to play split screen LAN on same TV with my friends, screen look and kill them, they love it.
What silly metrics did you use to decide to de-prioritize it? IT’S A PRODUCT LAUNCH REQUIREMENT.
What part of CORE HALO NECESSITIES DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?
I PAID $60 for this game. You sold me a Campaign that was 50% done, NO REVEALS. No Forge, No Martin O’Donnell music, FOR SIXTY DOLLARS. That’s XBOX 360 era game pricing!!! That’s the pricing that comes from DEVELOPERS working past 5! NOT FOR these new load-management devs QOL 9-3devs. and 10-2 pms
i started off running it on a 6800k + 1060 6gb and it ran ok-ish the stuttering eventually ruined the experience.
i suspect the reason you claim it ran ok on your system was your gpu. as i briefly played the game on a 1080 ti and it was really smooth but…see below…
with the framerate uncap it stuttered loads and cpu usage was in the 80’s but capped it was smoother but still stuttered loads when up high looking over the map or when areas loaded in or when there was a checkpoint and also when first going into the open world. first part of the game was butter smooth though. soon as i got outside it was stutter city off and on.
in the end i had to sell a load of old pc hardware and upgrade.
now on 8700k + rx 6600 xt and it’s smooth everywhere now. old hardware just doesn’t perform well on infinite…
capped and uncapped on newer cpu = no stutter.
which proves the game is unoptimized for old hardware. just like ghost recon wildlands which was another cpu heavy game.
back on topic…
i hope with the restructuring going on at 343 they put split screen co-op back on the roadmap and get it finished even if they release it as a beta so we can use it right now. will be better than doing it via a glitch…
i hope they do comment on the backlash at some point as they can’t just ignore it.
we still remember halo 5.
