It’s looking like the complete edition will include ATN
If that is the case, it would be a great opportunity for you to suggest the game to your friends who have never played it. Should be good!

I know this has been said a thousand times before… but I’m gonna say it again anyway.
So the people who bought the ultimate edition of the game when it first came out has pay for the expansion but those who buy this don’t? So I’m going to pay $100 for the full game, but someone picking up this copy only needs to drop $60? That’s a real kick in the gut.

We also have been able to play for 7 months. Take that for what you want, but I feel like I got great value in those 7 months so I feel no bitterness

know that you mention it…yep it’s not great. Just glad it’s 343i doing this, not Bungie because if Bungie were involved I think they would be trying to charge even more, rip people off like with Destiny. Just glad that 343i are making new expansion and not overcharging for it.
I am still under the impression that Halo 6 is delayed, leading them to want to obtain more money.

Oh god, here we go again…
Guess we should be complaining about the people who bought Master Chief Collection and every other single game that does this (which are pretty much all nowadays) , that is so low on 343’s part.
This is a great opportunity for the community to grow, that’s all I care.

If 343 was Bungie, then the Season Pass would be called Halo Wars 3 and Awakening the Nightmare would be called Halo Wars 4.

Its so cool to release a Complete Edition before the DLC itself has been released. That marketing genius behind this game. I hope that they have a MBA at least from Harvard.

How can it be delayed if they have never announced a date for it? Most people assume it was 2017 but MS never officially said that.

I know that games do get cheaper as time goes on and that there are cheaper editions too, but the Complete Edition is very cheap considering the amount of content included and that the game is only 7 months old. It’s obvious the game isn’t selling well to see a decrease that big that quick, they wouldn’t sell it that cheap otherwise. I agree it’s going to increase the size of the community and that a good thing in the end.
I’m more annoyed that I got the inferior version of HW DE with the Ultimate Edition and had to buy it on Steam.

I agree with General Trex. If I had never known the game existed and somehow was made aware of the “Complete Edition” I might consider researching the game if I thought it had entertainment potential. During my research I find that the game has endured numerous bug fixes and balance updates and originally sold as an “Ultimate Edition” for $100. Now, suppose instead of “Ultimate Edition” it read: “Beta”… would any of us pay $100? Isn’t beta essentially what the community has been subjected to? I think it’s understandable to request a little more respect for your purchase.

A beta? seriously? get out of here.
True BETAs no longer exist for the most part and even so, the first Beta we got was truly a work in progress, you can check videos on youtube and see how far the game has come. The Blitz “beta” was similar to the usual betas other game devs release.
But 7 months in? calling it a beta, please…

You might not be looking at the whole picture here. How many times have you personally stopped playing the game because the recent balance patch completely broke the game? Do you not recall the 3 weeks the game was dead because Forge Hog was unbeatable? First the marines are buffed, then nerfed, then buffed, then nerfed again. Certain leaders are OP, then garbage a month later. I don’t know why you don’t define that as beta. Please enlighten me.

This game was hardly a beta. It wasn’t perfectly balanced at launch but it hasn’t been a beta.

I know what you mean, the beta is mostly just ends up a nearly complete game that just requires minor feedback before launch.

By that logic almost every game currently is a beta.
One of the benefits of having the cloud and installed games is the opportunity to tweak the games as time goes by, that doesn’t mean it’s a beta.
If you feel you’re an unpaid beta tester then why are you even playing video games?
sigh
So The “ultimate edition” was pointless…why not have the ultimate edition be the “complete” edition. Calling something ultimate means that there is no better…343 really need to work on their marketing.
Complete editions at a discounted price are fine a year after the game launches and the season pass expires…however already having an “ultimate edition” without the main expansion, then advertising the “full game” before the final expansion even launches is laughable at best. Especially seeing all the balance inconsistencies this game has had. I stopped for weeks on end due to them. If I knew a “complete” edition at a lower price was coming, I would not have bought the so called “ultimate” and instead waited for the complete. As buying it “early” was not worth it at all, as I’ve had to put up with horribly balanced seasons for most of it. As many comments above have stated, it truly was a beta. It took them a very long time to fix or add very simple things that should have been at launch or should not have been changed (300% buff to forge hog, good idea…) in the first place.
Defend it all you like, however this is not good marketing. Will it bring in new players? Of course. Does it screw over players who overpaid at launch for the ultimate thinking they’d get it all? Definitely.
Dont call it ultimate if it becomes obsolete after a few months. Atleast EA puts all of their expansions in their ultimate editions, but discount them after launch. 343 is putting in new content outside of the ultimate and further discounting it.

How hasnt it been a beta?
Beta:
1: Test the game, provide feedback on inbalances.
2: Devs consider feddback and tweak the game
3: Be willing to put up with broken or not working aspects of the game
Every single season is like having a beta all over again. Deny it as much as you like, but its the truth. If it wasnt a beta, there would be no need for us to consistently be on the forums giving feedback/evidence of completely broken leaders/units right after a new “patch” (ahem beta build) and then fixed/nerfed a week later (in case of forge a month). If it wasnt a beta, then why was the game close to abandoned during the forge hog broken season? Further, if it wasnt a beta they would more thoroughly test stuff before releasing it as a patch. If we can figure out inbalances by merely reading the patch notes (ahem forge 300% buff) or playing one match or two (in the case of cutter/kinsano a week or so back), how hard is it to test?? Its not about being perfectly balanced, to reach that the normal method of updates works. But in this case, many updates unbalanced the game completely…like they never tested the changes.

If it was old Bungie season pass would be Halo wars 2 and awakening the nightmare would be halo wars 2. New Bungie? Yes, agree.
