So, all i see are complaint and “worry” topics… guys, believe me we dont want to go back too the roots…

  1. Why? It was fun, but we gotta keep progressing!
  2. Reach, it was a good thing. Move forward…
  3. Remakes, why! why why why!, whats fun about a map you already know like the back of your hand!
  4. Let them pic which weapons they want in the game.

All i gotta say, look at the concept art trailer , look at it.
I WANT THEM TOO MAKE NEW MAPS!

I know every dam map , After years after years of remakes in Halo3 and Reach i finally want something original , the new maps in reach are both beautiful and better than those in HALO-CE. I actually read posts about, “they dont feel like Halo-CE”

Ya, every halo game had something new, and it always made the game worse.

Time to hit the reset button.

How did they make it worse? more and more people played the game.
And i know what your going to say, about the AA and equipments in halo 3.

All i am saying is let those men and woman at 343i do their job, most of those worhtless opinions only make the game worse.

I don’t think that’s the case at all, Halo has progressed for the best in my opinion. It’ll be interesting having Master chief and Cortana back in the picture…Cant wait!

  1. The more “progress” Bungie made, the worse off Halo became. People should realize by now that the entire series has just been taking a step forward and two steps back each time a new game is released.

  2. lol, so was the second trilogy of Star Wars.

  3. Because playing on a remake of a good map is always better than playing on a new -Yoink- map.

You are in the minority, the general consensus of the Halo community was that Reach was a failure. I’m not saying that you can’t like it, but most people don’t.

The most (and only) fun in Reach I had were in the Anniversary maps. They felt like Halo and WERE Halo, something that Reach was lacking.

Okay? I have. And we want them to make new maps too, but it won’t hurt to bring back a classic or two. CAPS RAGE!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! You actually think the bland maps in Reach are beautiful??? Here’s a summary of the maps in Reach: Green, Grey, and Tan. The maps in CE were incredible. Sidewinder, Boarding Action, The original Blood Gulch, hell, even Chiron TL-34 was fun if you gave everyone shotguns. Something tells me you never played the first 2 Halos before…

Is it impossible? Solitary brought back some awesome memories from Halo CE.

Yes they did. And they also all had items from the previous games to make it feel more like the originals.

I didn’t ask for AA’s, I asked for equipment to be removed. I didn’t ask for a story about 6 douchey, unlikeable characters who were bound to fail, I asked for a continuation of Master Chief’s story. I asked for a better forge, not a green and grey turd called forge world.

343 isn’t Bungie, I think they’ll learn from Bungie’s mistakes.

Just read the post again, this is my opinion and why people should not complain about every detail in previous Halo games. All people in this community.

You have too agree with me on this one, about 3/4 days ago some one posted,
“The Halo3-ODST pistol was the best pistol, it was a shame it did not make it in Halo-Reach. At least it would not be as useless as the Halo 3 pistol.”

Posts like that, it does not help anybody. they can put it in the game if they like. As long as it does not get overpowerd like in Halo ODST, but that is what this person wants.

Dont get me wrong i love the remakes, but also i want some new freaking maps. Honestly maps like solotairy-remake did not affect, High-Noon did the most too me.
(good too hear you had some good times in Halo Reach then playing solitary)

I always wanted a Death-Island remake, i did not get it, i dont go around complaining it MUST be in Halo4 ohter wise i wont buy the game?

I just want the community to stop the rage on previous halo games, and pick something they did not like, and pick something they did like and talk about it if half of the community agree’s with them.

I will buy Halo 4, i will play the MP, i dont like it i go back too reach or Battlefield 3, or Gears of war 3

Ow, i played all halo games on PC, XBOX and XBOX 360, played all beta’s. So, i do know what i’m talking about.

A lot of people don’t seem to have grasped what made Combat Evolved so great. It was new, it was fresh, it felt different and ‘more’ than other games, it completely blew the bar away, IT WAS ORIGINAL.

Imagine how people from 2001 would feel if, ten years in the future, with all the progress we’ve made and all the potential that this holds, people are shunning every step forward and blindly supporting remakes of decade-old games. Some of the replies in this thread would frankly depress them.

I understand that you want Halo to progress and not become like other shooters that never change (CoD), but you’re going too far, you make it sound like you want to run ahead without looking back to see where you came from.

Change is a good thing, but you need some anchors like remakes and things that made the originals so great to keep the series as great or better than it was before.

When you change too much and forget about you’re roots you get Reach, a game that feels nothing like its predecessors and has nothing of what the fans of the series have come to love.

If you keep to much the same, you get CoD, a game that is basically a remake of the last game, and only appeals to 12 year-olds who haven’t caught on yet.

You need a good balance of change and stability or else you end up with a bad game and an insult to the fans, who are the most important part of the game.

I can see we are on the same line, maybe i want too progress too fast, but that is because i am so desperate too keep Halo, from becoming like COD or battlefield.

These people, talking about remakes and old gameplay formules.

Halo 1 has a special place in my heart. It was new and so many things i have never experianced before.

Halo 2 had the same thing with the multiplayer, every one loved it.

And well Halo 3 i played most, but it got well, dull in the end…

And agree on Reach, its the biggest flaw in the Halo history, even ODST had a better campaign. But the muliplayer was decent.
AA= country too shotgun campers. How many times on swordbase did i kill a shotgun/sword guy with armor lock. But i never had the moments like in Halo 2 or 3, when i was like “OMG overkill, EXTERMINATION~!”

The balance your talking about is very hard too find and i pray too god 343 finds it.

The problem right now is that Bungie scared people enough to make them give Halo one last chance. If they change a lot, people are goin to leave, thats why for this game they need to play it a little safe, to show peoplethat they know what they’re doing and know what makes people love Halo.

343 needs to put new features like the Thruster Pack in Campaign so if the community likes it, they can put it in the next game without taking a huge risk. If the community doesn’t like it, 343 will move on.

I think Halo 4 will be a very “safe” game that feels like Halo to win the communiy’s trust so that they can make the next game (Halo 5) reinvent some things and take some risks.

my opinion for the reach multilayer

no AA = better and no reticule bloom. and no AA. and no forge made maps in the multilayer. and no AA.

did i mention there should not be any AA.

encase you missed the hint AA = terrible.

I hear people say that we should not fix what is not broken. thats a bad thing. I for one do not want this communityto become complacent like call of duty fans and i want the series to develop more. I am not saying halo should turn into an rpg what i am saying is that we should take the core gameplay and develop that forward. and for the idiot who said most people thought reach was a failure that is the minority. reach was a good game and an innovative one. to make things clear i have played halo from the begginig and they have alwys gotten better.
edit i like the armor abillities you just need to know how to counter them so stop complaining i was waiting for jetpacks for ever.

riiiiiight couple of things

  1. halo 1 2 and 3 were better because they followed the compelling story of john - 117 ok? the spin offs don’t do so well because they lack what halo does best at, telling that story. halo reach does not do that in the slightest.

2 halo reach is a failure = the majority of the forums dont believe me you put up a poll saying what is better halo’s spin offs or halo’s 1 2 and 3 and them when i see the percentage of spin offs higher then I’ll shut my mouth and say reach is not the failure in halo games.

So you’re saying most people like Reach? Lol have you ever even been to the Reach forum? People hate Reach.

You’ve played from the “begginig”? I doubt that because you can’t even spell beginning, a word a Third grader could spell so that makes you around 8. Halo came out 10 years ago kid.

And why don’t you ask the Reach forum whats wrong with Reach? Lol get out kid and go back to CoD.

The maps indeed are graphically excellent (excluding the forge worlds ‘shudders’). However instead of being unique these maps were derived from campaign, like exactly the areas of campaign that they were derived from so that the maps were by the time you finished campaign on legendary and beat the game to death; were boring. Same with FireFight, couldn’t they have had different areas then campaign ones to give the maps a fresh atmosphere. Reach is a vast planet with more than campaign had to offer yet MP didn’t offer many fresh areas.

So hopefully Halo 4 maps will be fresh and unique away from campaign.

The newer the game the more innovative it has to be, that’s a given else stagnation becomes an issue.

check game history before you make a stupid ignorant comment you elitest grammar -Yoink!-. you want to know how people really feel about the game ask the people who play it. you dont have to own the game to complain about it on forums. most complaints i hear are moronic by people who just cannot adapt.

edit i am well past that grade and if the stupid mouse pad would work it would stop switching back and forth. that and you pick up the most insignifacant factor.

The maps were not derived from the campaign, they were designed as multiplayer maps and then fitted into the campaign. Asides from the fact Bungie stated this multiple times… what, did you really think the developers just happened to perfectly remake Ivory Tower? That would be quite the coincidence.
