Competitor and Casual Ranking system

You guys can criticize, insult, and send flaming fireballs my way. You can even take this idea and 1-up it. I just want a good ranking system for everyone to enjoy.

IDEA: I’m going to be using 1-50 as an EXAMPLE.

Rank = captain, commander, general, etc.
Skill = 1-50

So everyone gets the game at midnight, everybody is skill capped at level 10. Once they reach 250 wins (exp.) Their level cap goes up to 20. They achieve 500 wins, the level cap goes to 30. Acheive 750 wins, level cap moves to 40, Achieve 1000 wins, level cap to 50.

There will be both Ranked and Social playlist. Along with the title update that halo 3 had (individual ranks for each playlist).

If a person decides to never rank up past 10, then make the rank cap for them at 500 wins. They can be a Master super sergeant (or whatever). Obviously they don’t care about their rank if they have 500 wins. I’m sure about 90% of us can reach level 30 if we really wanted to anyway.

Competitive players: will love this because they will play and play and play until they get that 50.

Casual/noncompetitive players: will love this because they have a lot of time to spend in the game and still have something to look forward to.

Boosters: Obviously boosting will never go away. But this should slow them down.

Account salesman: This guy has to win 1000+ games before he can get a level 50. Is he really going to want to sell it? and if he does, I don’t think 50$ is worth 1000+ games unless he is in middle school.

Post your thoughts please =)

1-50 with arbitrary rank increases is a flawed paradigm.

Most casuals either hate or don’t care about ranking systems. Most on here on against any and all ranking systems IMO. Of course there is nothing wrong about being casual or enjoying social, it just gets bad on this forum sometimes.

For ranked? 343 is already ditching 1-50 and The derpy Arena systems for hopefully something new and better.

That part sounds fine to me, except i would add no one should ever get exp if they go neg in the game. How about a +1 if they go Pos, 0 = 0, neg equals neg 1/2, MVP gets +2 EXP.

sees 1-50

sounds good to me

sigh

Kid goes 1 kill, 0 deaths
Team player goes 15 kills, 16 deaths, with 12 assists

The kid gets to rank up in your playlists. STATS DO NOT TELL THE WHOLE STORY.
