Halo is not any more competitive than it used to be, but there are some changes that have been made.
- Radar smaller, faster spartans. This change is huge, there is not more tactic, it’s run as fast as you can til you see someone and shoot them and hope you don’t have that 1 second lag that guarantees defeat.
- Smaller maps - this is strictly for ranked games. It used to be AR, magnum, and BR. Those were the main weapons that truly mattered. First rule of halo has always been master the BR. If you’re shooting at someone that spawns 10 feet away and they sprint at you, then AR is gonna win 90% of the time, which used to be unheard of in the halo world.
- Lack of social playlist - Sure there is Big Team Slayer, there is infection, but I always looked at social slayer as a warm up. Always did 1 or 2 before going into rank. Not sure how something so simple could be passed up.
- Infection/grifball - Why is this considered social? These are supposed to be custom games people play to forget about traditional slayer, which loses a lot of players for ranked/social playlists. The reason they won’t add in all the playlists we want is because they don’t have enough people that will play it consistently. 343 is not stupid, they know what will do well and what won’t.
- Rank resets - FU to anyone that thinks this is a good idea. Some say it stops boosting. That’s friggin laughable considering it allows people to do that every month now instead of just making a new account. You people are the main reason this game isn’t what it used to be. You’re the reason people flocked to WZ, and/or other games.
Just an example on why the rank resets is so retarded and useless. So I get the game in February, poof I work my way to diamond 3. March comes around, I can’t get past platinum 3. April is next and after my 10 unranked games I get to Platinum 1 (makes sense right)? May is next and this is a good one. I play the worst 10 games I have probably played in my life. Get ranked to diamond 3 right after losing 6 games in a row negative k/d spread. I also have played like a trash in arena since March, I only play my 10 games to get ranked and then don’t play til next month. That’s how accurate your ranking system is.
