I am starting to think that competitive support for a game is a must now.
“A good competitive game is easily playable casually, a good casual game cannot be played competitively”
League of Legends right now has more people watching a single stream than the entire population of Halo 4 for the last two days combined. That is horrific.
Black Ops went competitive this year with the inclusion of spectator mode. I attended eurogamer and all I saw around the venue was talk about competitive gaming.
The best competitive games are competitive out of the box, like Starcraft or LoL, Halo lacks that!
blah blah blah.
you guys need to redefine your definition of casual game, because most of you have it wrong.
If a game is stressed to be played competitively, then it should have competitive support. Casual gamers didn’t care about how competitive halo CE-3 was. They just played it, because they were great games ironically. Any game can be played casually, so they can talk off to competitve people all they want when we don’t get our end of the deal.
The go lollygagging around loving any halo game, while we are told to not complain or worry about balance, etc. There was only a problem when Reach came about…
Yet COD is in the top now and it hasent really depended on MLG it was just a thing to them to boost intrest a bit like a publicity stunt instead for Halo people started to view MLG as the creators of the game reather than bungie i guess now instead of we want bungie back its going to be we want MLG back.

Cod didn’t need mlg because they have their own competitve stars/pros and comeptitions. Cod fans do follow them a lot especially on youtube lol. Yet again, their casual community loves their popular cod pros and has no problem with them. Not mention, cod never had particular problems with satisfying the competitves given that their game stuck to its roots :p.

I played over a hundred games on my 360, that’s not including my pc, I’m telling you that halo 4 seems to be more dedicated to casual gaming, back in halo 3 I would keep playing regardless if got all the achievements because it was competitive but for reach it felt more like a punishment to force me to keep playing due to rank grind, with halo 4 the ranks were so fast that it leaded me to feel like there wasn’t much worth doing, it was bad enough that most of the game involved camping, killed competitive edge for me.

I find it more competitivie with campers. Gets me a goal and a target to work to. Nothing better than finding the Camo Sniper and showing him whos boss. I think gamers need to find a way to be competitivie in Halo 4. I still am even without a playlist for it
Thanks everyone for supporting this thread so far,

Not when there camping 24/7 with an average team, there’s always a way to catch them off guard but it’s not remotely fun.
