okay
the “competitive skill rank” is some -Yoink-, and I’m going to tell you why, but this has been the case with me.
So I’ve recently actually stared trying to be competitive in the community for a rank; because its something for me to do to pass the time.
Now here’s the issue, your rank isnt given to you through skill at all. Getting a higher rank (Say going from Gold I to Gold II) isn’t about skill, it’s about winning games.
I regularly hit 15 kills with around 9-12 deaths Every game, but because my team is absolute -Yoinking!- garbage I lose the match and my "competitive skill rank" goes down, regardless of how well I MYSELF DID MY RANK DECREASES BECAUSE I GOT A -Yoink- TEAM AND LOST THE GAME I SHOULD NOT GET A -Yoink- RANK AFTER CARRYING MY -Yoinking!- TEAM AND WE LOSE BECAUSE 2 -Yoink- HEADS GET 4 KILLS AND 19 DEATHS.

Yeah, I wish this worked like football where they let teams get seeded based on the merits of one player. Or win championships based on one persons performance.
Make halo friends, play with them. Be the master of your own fate. Instead of coming onto a forum and writing complaintative posts about random teammates and ranking systems, why not use that same website to join a spartan company filled with 99 people wanting to party up with you? Or post in the recruiting forum that you’re looking for competitive friends?
If you don’t feel like doing these things, that’s fine too. Play free for all, where you will get accurately ranked based on the merit of your individual skill without those pesky teammates dragging you down.
You’re literally asking a company to invest thousands of dollars in recoding a ranking system because you don’t want to go through the hassle of making friends.
I don’t mean to rag on you excessively, just trying to get a point across. I genuinely hope your Halo experience gets better and you find satisfaction in Halo 5.
If you desire help with any of the things I suggested, feel free to send me a PM.
