Just wondering how long it took for you all to get your highest rank in competitive. Been playing for 7 seasons and I only just got Diamond. It’s starting to frustrate me I can win 10 games on the run and place top 2 and I literally crawl up the rank , but lose 1 game and it slaps me down a whole rank.
I started doing comp in winter 2020/2019 (cant remember what it was labeled as) and got a gold 5 in team arena but I was already pretty decent. In spring 2020 i got a gold 5 and later ranked up to gold 6. This season i played team slayer with my friends and started as a diamond 3, but then i moved down to diamond 2 because my friend thought it would be an amazing idea to “go for content” in comp… >:(

I’ve played competitve only for two seasons, but I actually find that winning usually makes my csr go up more than losing puts it down. For example, if I lose two matches and win one, my rank goes up.
How much you go up/down when you win/lose depends on your Matchmaking rating (MMR) if you are performing much better than your current rank, your CSR will go up more. If your MMR is lower than your CSR you will lose more.
I understand the theory ,but I can play 10 games against mixed rank of,plat,Diamond,onyx and the odd champ and unranked. Win them all place top 3 in 7 out of 10,and not move up rank from plat 5. It’s so frustrating .But still the more I play ,the more of the Halo community I meet and that’s cool

I have the same problem. No matter how many games I play I won’t rank up. I have been onyx in the slayer playlist on this account and on another old account more. This season I can’t get to diamond 6.
I think there was a matchmaking and ranking system update to make you move up slower. I wouldn’t be surprised if 343 did this to make people play more games so the population doesn’t get too low.
Idk about other people who search solo, but I always am facing teams. I’m literally always the highest ranked player on my team and I’m only diamond. I frequently have gold and plat teammates and face teams with 1 or 2 onyx players, and diamond or champ players. Its really frustrating. I just played a game were I faced a team of 4 with matching emblems. They had an onyx and 3 diamonds. My team had low diamonds and one gold player. The halo 5 matchmaking system was already really flawed before, but now its worse. Its only fun to play h5 if you don’t care about your rank at all.
Well, I´m sort of an irregular player. Bought the game at launch and I´ve been plating a lot recently. At first I got gold 5 in SWAT in the beginning of the season, and it took me about five to six hours of gameplay to get to platinum 3 (I play arround an hour a day, so, it was like a week or so)
Well sometimes it can even get worse and doesn’t make sense and causes me to lose a lot and still makes me go lower sometimes I only have unranked and gold rank teammates and the enemy team are champions like what why
Thought I was paranoid ,but thanks to your replies I realise I’m not. Played last night and was in a party of 12 and everyone of us were having the same issues I different games ,smashing our games and crawling and losing one then dropping hugely.
