Competitive Playlist

So I noticed that a lot of people want a Competitive Playlist but there already is one and it is called Team Throwdown. This playlist would be much better if you actually go play it because the population on it is low.

If you think that isn’t good enough there are still a couple of options. There are gamemodes on Custom Games that allow you to use no sprint. I have a CTF and Team Slayer version of them and it is really fun. I didn’t make those gamemodes so don’t ask me about it.

The other option is go repopulate Halo 3 if that is the game you liked most.

Doubles and Rumble Pit are pretty competitive as well.

Eh since they put CSR in all the playlists it pretty much made them competitive whether they like it or not.

I really just want a Team Slayer playlist. I really don’t think that’s so much to ask for.

Also, why on earth did 343i name the closest thing to it “Team Slayer Pro”? There’s nothing pro about it, it’s just Team Slayer with sprint and a wrongly placed DMR. All that name did was make me think it was the MLG playlist until I got so tired of Infinity Slayer that I checked out every playlist.

I found a Team Slayer mode in someone’s fileshare that does have the same scoreboard. So not a circle behind the kills you made in the in-game scoreboard but a X. Also it has no sprint. It is really fun, BUT I DID NOT MAKE THIS!

i find infinity slayer competitive. you must smartly craft a loadout to best suit the map and your personal playstyle. you need to be adaptive and modify them in game in response to how your enemies are playing (for example if i notice more than one of them is pv scanning, i always turn on stealth.) and you need to be good in the traditional sense, good aim good teamwork good map control. i find it quite satisfying in the competitive department and fail to see how team throwdown is any more so.

There’s everything you listed, then AR Jetpackers, Beam Rifle Ordinance, and random Incineration Cannons/Binary Rifles on Haven, Rockets on Adrift, and just no predictable weapons at all.

if AR jetpacking is an effective tactic, then i see no reason why it should not be utilized in a competitive game. i admit the beam rifle can be a bit lame, but if you want to obtain one, tactically apply the requisition package; twice the chance to get one. and every infinity slayer team know (including mine) to have one man with drop recon who can call out incoming cannons and binary rifles to be collected by his team.

No they aren’t. If you have anything above a 1.6 K/D everybody quits out in doubles. As for rumble pit, I’m an avid FFA player. Rumble Pit is far from competitive. Too many players, too small of maps and Infinity gametypes bog the playlist down.

I mean, it’s more competitive than say, Infinity Slayer, but it’s not overly competitive due to the settings and maps it uses.

OT: Throwdown’s good if you have a team. It’s not so spectacular if you’re a random, despite the balances.

I think people are looking for a competitive, non MLG based Slayer/Objective playlist, and possibly a good FFA playlist. I know I’m looking for a good FFA playlist.

Jetpack allows for avoidance of normal map boundaries and breaks up the flow of gameplay. Jetpack AR allows for a player to not only avoid normal map boundaries, but offers an easy way to rain a lot of lead down from above for an easy kill.

It offers a very good advantage with very little skill input. The AR isn’t a difficult weapon to use, and the jetpack is an unbalanced ability.

Hence why it isn’t considered balanced, or competitive. It’s a good tactic, but that’s the thing. It’s too good, especially for how little input is actually put in to accomplishing the task.

When people talk about competitive, they generally mean a balanced competitive environment. Anything is competitive, but not anything is balanced.

Infinity slayer is competitive (anything is), but the matches are largely determined by the loadout used and the luck of the ordinance as opposed to actual player skill. This is the reason it isn’t considered a competitive gametype.
