Competitive killed halo

I disagree. Wasnt Halo always competitive before reach? I believe all the new mechanics/gimmicks similar to other games out there, lack of content, lack of splitscreen, and garbage campaign are whats killing Halo

Reach, the game that split the community is still far more succesful and well received than Halo 4/5 were. It still felt like a Halo game. Reach was getting 100k people online a year after it’s release, Halo 5 was down to 40-50 2 months after release.

They removed the player count for a reason.

Without Microsoft there’s no 343, and without a good Halo game there’s not that much going for the Xbox one.

> I remember back in the day when youtube channels were made just for halo because how much fun they have playing it and how everyone injoys it because it’s fun and simple, now day’s sense halo 4 came out and how much similar it looked to cod people start to loose interest and move on into new things. Halo back in the day had both competitiveness and casual fun gametypes in two different sections, now days halo is all about being sweaty and play on those hideous small looking maps. Every new game that is released and it’s about fun casual gameplay people go insane about it and play it non stop. For example, over watch have over 7 million registered accounts, wherever I go on social media I see someone is playing it or doing fan art for it because it’s a game for everyone! Just like how halo used to be. Halo is in no shape of being too focused on a competitive gameplay because it’s an exclusive game for a console that is barely selling well, you need to show how fun and simple the game is so that everyone can injoy it. Im not saying competitiveness in halo should go away, it’s been apart of halo sense ages but what I’m saying is they should do like they did in old halos where they put an mlg section for competitive players and a section for casuals and make the gameplay more simple and fun, not just completely ignore the fun aspects of the game and shove competitive gameplay into everyone’s throat like in halo 5 arenas. Wanna see how halo is so focused on competitive players and making everything for esport players? See my previous forum Lazy link

This…

You guys need to stop calling them “fun” gametypes and “fun” playlist. Fun is subjective so come up with another name, competitive is fun to me. We already have fun playlists sounds like you want braindead ones.

agree’d > they need to have a “competitive” playlist and a “social” playlist

The Xbox is more than just halo, gears? Mass effect?(is now on ps as well after the last game launched), it even is used to view a certain naughty website the most. Then there’s the million plus users who use it. Xbox has outgrown halo at this point, ten years ago sure you could say it would have nothing going for it if halo bombed but halo has bombed for years now and people still use the console for the other infinity games out there. Halo just isn’t that Xbox seller anymore which is a shame but doesn’t bother me.

You refuse to listen to any intellectual competitive argument and instead throw all competitive players into this “MLG Try hard, KD ratio loving” stereotype that is honestly fairly ridiculous.

“Proudly ignorant” Well that’s nice of you to say -_-

You want proof? Go plug in a 360 and look at H3 matchmaking menu. Then lookup a video of H5 at launch and then look at its current state. Theres the proof.

I agree however I dislike competitve gaming and think the Reach, 3, etc days were the best.

> H5 is an improvement over 4 and the abilities you mentioned that are "driving fans away " are what I actually like about this game and I had H1&2 on pc when I was a kid so I’m an original fan. I hate the req system warzone and lack of customization options both for aesthetics and custom games. The weapons are actually balanced in this game which was a problem in all the others. The campaign was trash and the heads at 343 have lied about a lot of things.

I mean yeah, there are gonna be people that like it, but there are also thousands upon thousands of people that didn’t. I’m looking at you H4. I agree that H5 is an improvement even though there are still problems, but H4 did Halo in and then the MCC disaster was the final nail in the coffin. I have hope that 343 learns from their mistakes for H6 although I’m sure they’ll screw something up.

There is not really one good youtuber doing informative halo 5 gameplay.

its all show off vids or hating on the community that doesn’t suite them. And a lot of the tip vids out there don’t help.

I 100% agree I didn’t ask for this

Now we barely see people play halo for how fun it is. Some people even said they were excited for MCC because all that fun can return with a clean slate. 343 dun -Yoinked!- it up and should have never turned halo into cod.

Absolutely.

agreed i loved halo 2 and how competitive it was. i do not really think that any halo has lived up to those standards.

Warzone used to be heaps fun and I played that non-stop. But now it’s just. the fun died out because of people. People love to ruin the fun in games for casuals like me. Heck the whole ranking thing in halo 5 with gold and diamonds has turned me into someone I dont wanna be (competitive) and I hate it. I 100% agree with OP. These MLG and casual sections would be nice to have. Halo 5 is just way too competitive. I never noticed any competitiveness in halo reach or 4.(didn’t play CE, 2 or 3 enough to care about their multiplayers) But in halo 5 it’s just… damn. And yet halo 5 is still my favorite game. And probably always will be.
> > >
> > > PS. no one’s going to agree with me when I spread my OPINION here but I think all ranked playlists should become social as of now. No more competing for golds or onyx. Let’s make it fun again. Or at least have the ranked section then social section. Cause like I said these ranks are making me be someone I don’t wanna be. I get a gold 5 after qualifying in breakout then get all aggressive and crap just to get that gold 6 up to a platinum but go down to a gold 5 and then 4. Getting super rage and then realizing wow this isn’t me I play for fun like I used to. I shouldn’t care

> yes calm your snake down its my own opinion not yours. I aint aware of any stereotypes okay trust me. i read your post and agree with you. although i would prefer none of the playlists being rank i full out dont care either way. Not everyone is bad but there are some serious mega a holes out there. although i was too harsh on my post bad day thats on me. and no your not supposed to take my opinion seriously hence it being my opinion you know. the blaming one was true though. i get so ahead of myself last night. will be taking a break off halo 5 and in the next month or so i’ll be back to my normal happy self and i wont even care about farmer, or tryhards or mlgs or lag or ranks.

I feel ya. After the first season I nearly made diamond for slayer. But ever since I would never be able to gain any momentum, and would always blame my teammates. I stopped playing after I won seven qualifying marches against high platinum and a few diamonds, only to get placed at Plat 3.

Casual players would still have a lot to do if warzone firefight, or even better a normal firefight like previous games, was out at the moment. In previous Halo’s the campaign was fun enough that I could play it over and over. Sadly Halo 4 was so lackluster that I sold it after two weeks and Halo 5, though it had some great online play back when there was a larger player base (aka less tryhards and more casuals to balance things out) it helped make up for the subpar campaign. Here’s to hoping that Halo 6 will release with a firefight mode at release and that the next campaign will follow more to the recipe of the original (survival style level, sniper focused level, race for your life style level, etc).

I disagree

If I want to have fun, I just play social playlists and warzone. Arena is for when I’m feeling competitive.

There should be a social DLC release, one that gives players a true casual playlist (not a hidden rank playlist as we have now) it should include a team objective, slayer, ffa, BTB. It should include symmetrical and asymmetrical game types, slayer, swat, CTF, assault, KotH, territories, fiesta, griff ball, infection, action sack, race and any other fun game type I’ve missed out. It should not affect your K/D it should be purely for fun. If 343i announced anything like that even if I had to wait 6 months for it to release I’d be a happy bunny.
