Competitive Halo

Im really looking forward to the future of Halo. While many may look at Halo 5: Guardians as a COD re-skin, myself and many others see it as a welcome addition to Halo’s competitive gameplay. Just because something is modernizing does not mean it is a clone of another modern title. Call of Duty simply represents what modern gaming generally is, fast and nimble gun fights. However, Call of Duty does not represent every modern game. What I mean by this is that Halo 5 is modernizing in its own way, both by introducing more diverse and quick decision-making mobility and retaining the core simplicity of what makes Halo so iconic. Halo is not Halo because its slow, its Halo because its simple to learn and hard to master. So if Halo 5 is a much faster game then say Halo 2, if its simple to learn and hard to master is it still Halo to you?

Sorry, but the fact that you think adding movement mechanics that have been around for 20 years counts as “modernizing” just shows that deep down you know it’s only there because of CoD.

i have no problem with how halo 5 looks and I’m looking forward for it but you must say 343 fell for it.

it did stick with halos recipe of guns-melee-grenade but added on it which i did not want to be honest.

but i won’t say more ill wait to the beta.

Its not that I think that adding different movement options is only there because of Cod, but because games in general are moving towards a more fast paced style. I agree with you completely that for a long time games have had those options, but for some reason people like that stuff these days. So in a way because of those desires people have for those options in games right now in time, it could be considered modernizing in that sense but i see your point. Thanks for commenting on my post.

People clearly like it in CoD and Battlefield; I’m not sure it’s fair to say people like it in Halo. People definitely didn’t like Reach/H4 as much as CE-3.

We’ll have to wait and see with H5.
