A sad time indeed. Ever since reach competitive halo has been dying a slow painful dead, but I think now the monitor has finally flat lined. People who play halo nowadays simply are not interested in competitive play. They like their loadouts, they like their radar and ordinances, they like their banshees and tanks and gauss hogs, and they like not talking as they play. Team throw down was a complete flop, I see maybe 1000 ppl in it at a given time. And with mlg dropping halo, that just does it man. RIP competitive halo.
How can a competetive playlist keep players when most of them dislike the core of the game from the start of?
I think a lot of us have come to that realization which is why the playlist is so low in population…I was an avid H4 gamer but recently ive been having more fun with BF3 and Minecraft which is sad because I love Halo but 343 isnt keeping me to interested…besides everytime I play it goes down one of 2 ways I get destroyed by ppl who are either cheating( and im talking the headless spartans in swat) or MUCH BETTEr than me or maybe I try to play some infinity slayer to run into camo, boltshot, jetpack, DMR and the list goes on…I got frustarted with all this stuff not including the Ordenance which to this day is still so annoying…and when you try to play some throwdown half your team quits before the game starts…The most ive played H4 this week is about an hour…considering i would play for like 6 hours a day 2 months ago
The way I see it is that unless 343i does something MAJOR in the next Title Update to really change the core of the game for the good, in the right way, Halo is done.
Destiny awaits, gentlemen.
> Destiny awaits, gentlemen.
I didn’t find Destiny all that impressive either.

They’ve provided so little information I don’t see how anybody could be impressed or unimpressed.
Mmm Halo 3 had Banshees, gauss, tanks. its supose to be the most competitive Halo of all time, well, some people say so.
Halo Reach was not able to be 100 % competitive due Armor Abilities
and Halo 4 with his fast paced, insta respawn and loadouts has no chance of being competitive at all.
Its just the word “competitive” has a lot of meanings.
Halo 4 and Reach are competitive in some way…
The true word to define a “good competitive Halo” is: equality.
Halo 3 proved to be a aqual game for all players, same starting weapons, power weapons within the reach of its players.
Players were able to develope skill.
I think 343i needs to get back the simplicity of Halo.

I just find it absolutely hilarious all these so called “competitive” gamers that bash on h4 and say they can’t wait for destiny.
Destiny will not be a competitive shooter.

You obviously don’t know what Destiny is. Because that game will not be competitive.

They’re exited for Destiny because it is an innovantive franchise that is attempting to move the entire FPS genre forward.
Halo is doing the opposite by copying CoD like a mime.
Im excited for Destiny because BUNGIE is making it. Oh and cmon and FPS MMO??? how is that not awesome!!!??
Oh, I wasn’t aware that the competitive license form was filled out and already sent off for a invalidate approval.
…I also wasn’t aware that games needed a form for competitive play.

Remember the good old days when Halo 2 and Halo 3 came out and practically EVERYBODY on your team would have a mic. The pre and post-game trash talk was always a treat:
-“F-U man! 1v1 snipers right now and I’ll kick you A!”
-mom jokes galore

It has already been confirmed/leaked by Bungie/Activsion, that Destiny will include competitive multiplayer with a variety of multiplayer modes.

Competitive in the sense of player versus player, i.e. competing.
Not competitive as in skillful or balanced.
The game industry uses the term different than we do.

Someone is butt hurt. If you care so much about competitive Halo then why don’t you play gamebattles or something? It is much better then the throwdown playlist and you almost always play against a good team that tries to win.

Bojangles ur an idiot. I like how u say butt hurt like u cant accept it so in the end ur " butt hurt "
Nd plus u really dont understand GB so I would be deeply appreciative if you would refrain from speaking… u have to go through so much more to just play a game through GB and half the time ur not even garunteed a match on there with the low population. That was ur only defence… Why we have to go through all that to just play a decent game without homos like u camping with a boltshot for a fake kd like cod. Go be an idiot sumwhered else
