Competitive Gaming Headsets

Update: astros crapped out lol kinda done with the company

I’ve written a bit about this in the past.

The short version of it is that headsets from gaming peripheral brands are almost universally overpriced and give you bad value for the money you pay with only few notable exceptions. It’s for this reason that I’ve personally gone with the, at first sight odd, combination of Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO, and an Antlion ModMic for communication. For what I paid for this combination, you won’t really find a gaming headset at that price that comes close in quality.

For anyone who just wants a headset and isn’t into this kind of DIY stuff, my general recommendations are HyperX Cloud, Sennheiser GAME ONE, and Audio Technica ATH-ADG1 in order from cheapest to most expensive. All of them I’ve heard good things about, and the latter two are from reputable audio companies and the first uses technology from one. You can’t go wrong with these.

Also, I moved this to General Discussion where it fits better.
