I think whats best is if Halo had some strong competition. Maybe then Halo could return to it’s roots so to speak. I’ve seen a few threads about Gears of War 4 and 343 maybe following thier footsteps (some people even saying 343 will ‘borrow’ ideas). If GOW4 were to succeed beyond expectations, i think that sort of competition would force Halo to evolve and come out on top again. Honestly, I’d love nothing more than seeing Halo 6 be so successful, and bringing back players who felt Halo 5 fell short. I myself love Halo 5 but it has room for improvement. Competition is key, if there is no competition the product goes stale due to lack of creativity. I mean think about it, when there are games pulling in players and delivering astounding content, 343 would have to think outside the box and create new ways to bring those players to thier franchise. What are your thoughts on this topic?
Doesn’t Halo already compete with other franchises? I think 343 already knows they need to make Halo “evolve”, and attempted to do so by introducing infinity slayer in Halo 4 and the req system in Halo 5. We can have a discussion about how successful those attempts were, and how much they innovate vs. copy ideas, but overall I think Halo already has strong competition and 343 knows it.
