Sorry if old.
I chopped Reach DMR and H4 BR from 2 screenshots, and put them on the same position.
We hope it’s alpha stage only, or we have to say…what’s up with such a BIG BIG BIG BR on screen.

It could be to do with FOV, certainly looks smaller than previous halos. The BR is huge compared to the old BR, looks more like an assault rife from Crysis 2 - Look here
holy crap, it feels like COD it is so realistic looking…wtf
I don’t like how big it is either
It’d be nice if we could hide the gun models.

Yup. The point is we don’t want such a big gun, it’s a BR not a Splaser, save space for us.
the dmr is like the same position as the br only reason it looks smaller cause this pic was taken from a landing of a high jump, look at the slant on the dmr
I think the new BR looks Manly.
Take a look at the top rail of the H4 BR.
that is very clearly a picatinny tactical rail, and that scope looks…potentially removable. I remember hearing dirty rumors about customizable weapons and accessories…Anyone think this adds credence to the rumor?
I hate when guns take up 1/4 the screen
makes me feel blind… and also, the gun is in mid-shot, that could be affecting the angel, or the DMR in the other picture could be turning to the right.
i prefer it to the DMR model
i already prefer halo 4 to halo reach just from the clips
it seems to do everything better
Maybe the Spartan IVs are just small as hell
That BR appears to be affected by some factor/force (perhaps by a jump).
Here’s an image of a steady BR - its position is more in line with Reach’s DMR.

In related opinion, I personally think the scope on the Halo 4 BR looks dodgy - too big and clunky; it should be more like H3’s in that it was more elongated and a little less ‘in your face’.

That one looks much better.

Franky was saying that the spartan 4 will rival Spartan 2 when it comes to size strength and speed/jumping height, Ad as fore canon they have the higher mortality rate of the spartan 3 and are cheaper to make similar to spartan 3s as well
Dude, the Halo 4 Image of the BR that you have provided ever so nicely for us looks so big because the player is in the midst of firing the weapon.

you do realize that military use scopes like this because there more advanced, the scope on the previous BR is dated there’s a reason why scoped have evolved with a weapon you want it to be lower profile so it lighter more compact while staying highly functional. this look more like a lazer/red dot sight which is closer to a possible digital scope used in the future.

^^^^^seriously right. I love how people jump to conclusion when they don’t even look at something they see a tiny single aspect of a picture and jump to conclusions

Also, the picture taken from the Halo 4 preview was taken while the weapon was being fired.

NO! We had that in reach! NO MORE!

If you really want to get technical, I don’t think the Spartans even look through the scope (I think). I believe the scope and the hud are connected somehow (speculation only) allowing the Spartans to use the scopes magnification without having to manually look through the scope. The hud automatically connects with any weapon that a Spartan is using so he or she does not have to use the sights, thus the reason “iron sights” have never been a factor in Halo.
