Found this over at Reddit:
> I did some looking into past halo maps, trying to figure out why Halo 5’s maps just don’t resonate with me and I think I figured it out. Halo 5 maps lack environment.
>
> I put together a comparison of some past Halo maps and Halo 5’s and you can definitely see the difference.

> Halo 5 has the graphic edge and the lighting is amazing, however, it’s just the same old recycled UNSC base theme they used in Halo 4. They didn’t really create environments for us to play in and I think that’s the big difference. I’m hoping this changes when they release BTB. Instead of being in a base or a dark section of the city, why couldn’t we have a small snowy arena similar to Snowbound or a jungle environment like Guardian? Hell, even inside a building but with environmental details like Ivory Tower.

> I know a lot of the community really enjoys the Halo 5 maps and I’m not trying to start a war with anyone, it’s all a matter of opinion in the end. I’m just trying to shed some light on why I think some people don’t like the maps.
Once again here’s that image: http://i.imgur.com/67iuU2O.jpg
I completely agree with this statement. Halo 5 is damn near perfection for some of us, but the Arena multiplayer maps seem very underwhelming in a way. Here’s the problem…
Coliseum
Eden (Remix of Empire)
Empire
Fathom
Plaza
Regret (Remix of Truth)
The Rig
Truth
Other than a couple of those, everything looks similar…very industrial by design. Then we have 5 Breakout Maps which all look VERY similar in design and also 2 more Forged Arena Maps (Orion and Pegasus) both which also look very, very similar by design). Forge is cool don’t get me wrong, but I’m pretty sure I’m not alone when I say that those maps are missing something. They feel bland, generic, and boring at times. Design is important for multiplayer. The new original maps aren’t bad, but they’re missing that diverse varied environments we all love from Halo. This can change and this other Reddit post seems to nail it:
> I would love to see 343 take one map from each previous installment and remake that for Halo 5 with some changes.
>
> Halo 1: Beaver Creek (small river in the middle/cliffs/forest area )
>
> Halo 2: Lockout (make an alternative Lockout Using a desert/sand version. Something like a crashed UNSC ship in the background)
>
> Halo 3: Guardian (make this a snowy environment resembling the first mission of the campaign for Halo 5)
>
> Halo 4: Haven (make this a similar forerunner environment with some visible Guardians in the background)
>
> Halo Reach: Powerhouse (It would be awesome to just name this map simply “Reach”…I think this map would work very well with Spartan abilities. It also has a very cool canyon/power center environment look to it.)
>
> All these would be 4 vs 4 and built specifically for Arena. Not to mention some of us would feel right at home with some of these classics.
TL:DR: We need more varied 4 vs 4 maps with those unique Halo environments. Just read the bolded part.
