Comparing Aiming from Halo 4 to Halo 5

What do you think? I feel that going back to previous Halo’s have shown me a lot prior to the aiming mechanics. There are a lot of issues regarding the aiming in Halo 5, though a lot of people state otherwise (competitive) vs (maybe no so competitive) players. The aim feel wonky, out of place and not smooth. Might be because of the 60FPS. Going back to Halo 4, Reach and Halo 3 and 2, I notice right there that 343 screwed something up. Im hoping that in December that they do indeed fix this issue nonetheless because flaws in the game doesn’t make it fun to play, for some people.

The only thing I’m noticing that is different in Halo 5 is that there’s a lot less aim assist than I’m used to. There may be actual problems with the aiming mechanism, but until I can regain the ability to aim without assistance then it just doesn’t matter to me.

I wish the aiming was more like battlefield 4, I am tired of missing my shots because I was hit and I get zoomed out, it ruins the purpose of this aim-down sights idea that they’re going for.

From what I know and a lot of other know is that the deadzones and aim acceleration is messed up and might be possibly patched in December but with this recent update people are experiencing issues with the aiming. Honestly how could 343i mess this up?

The acceleration you get at a certain point in on your stick! THIS is the problem. This is not predictable and you cannot be consistent with a suddent acceleration on your controller.
Many times I press the right stick to zoom then have my reticule going 20miles from where i was aiming because of this.

read my latest post slow trun bug vs intened aimg system. you guys are experincing noob aim

Really good video man. Been preaching this message since 2 hours after launch. The aiming in Halo 5 is the most ridiculous change to the franchise 343 could have made. Throughout the years, one thing that always impressed me about Halo was the rock solid aiming mechanics. It was the ONE feature that made it better than any other shooter in my opinion. I can’t believe they changed it. I hope they fix it in December and give us our game back. To all the “git gud” turds… Don’t start.

Halo 2, Halo 3, had less aim assist than Halo 4 did. Halo 3 had more aim assist than halo 2 did because of the new projectile system. Halo 2’s aim assist and bullet magnetism was perfect for hit scan halo titles. btw halo 3 is my favorite.

oh yeah and the lunge range in this game is ludicrous it was better in the beta im okay with it being a far lunge when someone it meleeing you from behind but the sides and front need to change to a shorter lunge distance.

I’m personally very fond of Battlefield 4 but these games are not very similar other then they are both part of the FPS genre of games. Halo 4 had no unscope after getting hit and it resulted in very static DMR/BR snipe fest. I personaly play with the bumper jumper control scheme which allows me to rezoom in much faster because all I have to do is click in on the right stick and I can recommend you try playing like 30 games with it and see if you like it. Unzoom is part of core Halo and I personally hope they do not get rid of it again.

Halo 5 broke the game pace and the general fun in campaign, it also broke the aiming, it’s like it’s a whole new FPS game branded with Halo on it, except it’s bad an generic as -Yoink-…

I think the aim assist is on when you’re firing from the hip so it discourages ADS

I personally think that 343 -Yoinked!- everything regardless of what fans would say

THIS

Latest update screwed the aiming up bad.

Sucks at aiming, blames the aim mechanics. Seriously?

On the contrary I am great at aiming. That’s why my KDA is higher then you and most people. The aiming just changed with the most recent update for the worse. I can still go positive, doesn’t mean it’s okay the aiming sucks. It’s not smooth at all.
