Company Commendations Change Idea

I’ve been thinking how 343 could improve on company commendations to help with issue of people company hopping to get the rewards and getting booted prior to. This does not take away from people being inactive and obtaining nor can it deal with the farming issue, but farming unfortunately cannot be avoided even if commendations are not involved.

So instead of a standard set of company commendations as Halo 5 had for the Achilles, what they can do is tie the company commendations to each individual. These would be separate from the personal commendations for weapons, assassinations, etc. The simplest example is that a player will need 500,000 headshots to achieve goal “x” for the company reward. This number will start increasing whenever the player or any member of their active company gets a headshot. If you are at 100,000 when you leave (or get booted from) Company A, when you join Company B your headshot count will remain at 100,000 even if Company B is brand new.

This is a very simple example, but it would prevent the booted before earning issue along with encouraging active companies to remain active and allow people to help friends unlock items they may not be able to do like 500 buckle ups.

Good idea, though 500,000 headshots may be a bit excessive, I do like the idea of progress carrying over with you.

The current Achilles number is 680,000 so i adjusted a bit

Wow, then 500,000 would be better.

But that’s cumulative right? So up to 100 people working on the 680,000 making for a total of 6800 headshots per person. So maybe 7500 headshots per player would be more reasonable. Certainly not 500,000/player. I do think overall this is a good idea though, especially with the progress carrying over.

Yes exactly. The cumulative aspect encourages teamwork and vroup play while the carryover aspect helps prevent wasted effort
