Is Halo 5 going to have a companion app? It would be cool if you could open req packs, customize your character, do daily minigames for req packs or check challenges with it… Just don’t do what destiny did and make it so you can only view certain things with the app.
I hope so. The Halo Channel is being touted as the companion app for all things Halo, but it bites, if you ask me. Super slow, weird navigation, and really nothing about the games themselves. It’s all side stuff. An app that let you access customization, file browser, and challenge progress would be really nice.
Hopefully the Halo Channel gets updated and improved for H5G’s release or when the new X1 UI comes out.

War Games app, please. Have War Games be directly related to in-game Halo 5 stuff like stats, character customization, commendations, and file share; and Halo Channel can be for trailers and ViDocs and whatnot.
On a side note, if you download the Halo Channel app for smartphone and watch at least 1 video, you get a free REQ pack.

It also works if you’ve watched anything on the halo channel app for xbox and windows as well.
I dunno, but I sooooo want an “AI” companion app that can relay info to me, both by and through voice commands of course.

I rather there not be an app. I remember the last one…was it Halo 4 I think? You had to run around to various 7-11s for the super special armor helmet and pieces. Boy that was fun in my spare time.
Was thinking about this the other day but honestly I’d rather they not waste time on this kind of thing.
In game customization and stat tracking could be implemented in such a way that this could be unnecessary but maybe they also could do some cool stuff with it.
Anyone else sort of want a ATLAS type thing for halo 5?

Ok at first I was about to say " No no no no no no please no " But when you put it this way changing your character from your phone and looking at req packs that’s a little better but I’m still not really for a companion app.

I would use it but seeing as I can just go to Waypoint on my phone and do most or all of this I don’t really care.

You can access the site from your phone and do most of this. The mobile version of the site works surprisingly well.

Halo Channel is currently the companion app. You can view your spartan and stats related to campaign and multiplayer. They need to add certain features, but they have time.
