My proposal is in the title so let me explain why I am asking for this. With the sidekicks incredibly fast fire rate it almost melts through your shields quicker then you can react and turn on someone or move back to cover with sprint being nerfed. With so many places people can sneak up on you from to catch you out of positioning it leaves you almost helpless if you can’t tell which direction they are coming from.
I believe that walking footstep sounds should be turned up so that any1 paying attention (emphasis on paying attention) for those sounds can hear them easily but not so much to where it ruins any chance to sneak up on some1. What do you guys think about this?
I think the noise is fine the way it is honestly. I’m not sure how many people are going to be crouch walking a significant distance and not getting caught doing it. Audio is also varied per the person’s budget so we must keep that in mind.

I have pretty expensive turtle beaches and I couldn’t hear a thing when people were walking towards me my problem is that unlike past halo games it is way harder to respond to a sidekick melting your shields way faster than previous weapons with no means to escape.
-I want the footsteps to be quiet but not so much so that it is near impossible to hear someone coming

they switched it to the old version this flight so everyone appears on radar if they move.
edit: just noticed you meant for comp. I still disagree as the footsteps felt super loud in my headset but there were also plenty of audio bugs in the flight so that could be a cause

I think they should just bring the radar from the first flight back. There is no argument against it that doesnt ultimately boil down to “I am bad at the game so need a crutch”

I disagree with that there are plenty of new ways you can now flank and attack people and unlike the previous three games you don’t have much movement to escape to cover and counter since the maps are way more open and sprint is needed. I think the first flight radar should be just for comp only excluding team slayer

That require you to pay attention more to your surroundings than the radar. I’m arguing just for the last flights radar to be added into comp with louder and the new radar to stay in social

Why would you want something implemented that makes it more inaccessible to deaf people. You’re basically asking for a pay-to-win feature. Those playing on TV audio/with sucky headsets (a majority of the playbase) can’t use your janky radar. So if someone wants to win, they’ll have to buy a $100 headset.
Edit: If you want a radar, make a radar that everyone can use.

Do you adjust the equalizer? The base setup for a lot of headphones are basically trash.

Wouldn’t no radar make it difficult for deaf people?

>Plenty of new ways to flank
Literally one, the grappling hook and you still appear on radar for it. Not to mention it’s a linear movement and doesnt even work half the surfaces.
Meanwhile defensive playstyles get the sensor dart which currently has two* uses those being
Fire it at your feet to check if the blips on the radar are below you which isn’t very useful
Fire it at a distant location to effectively get two radars which is unbelievably cancerous
3)* Fire it at a teammate to effectively give that player close range wallhacks for a short duration (how useful this will actually be remains to be seen) which is the only offensive use for the sensor dart.
If radar is returned to its Flight 1 state then the sensor dart instantly has more impact whilst simultaneously getting nerfed (with 2 radars it absolutely needs to be nerfed) and the ability to flank is greatly increased thus reducing camping and keeps the game from having a glacial pace.

That’s such a bogus argument. If an accessibility feature makes the game worse for everyone else then it shouldn’t be implemented. As for the headset argument, thats also a complete non-factor. The vast majority of commercial headsets are good enough to pick up footsteps and allow you to hear them, most people do have headsets good enough. I could buy a $25 headset and hear footsteps just fine in Rainbow 6 Siege or CoD Warzone, why is that too much of an ask for Halo? Even still you can tweak your own audio settings to make footsteps more prominent. This isnt a case of pay-to-win, games have been doing this for over a decade with no complaints, listening to footsteps is so common that it even has a name.

Do you have the source for the no radar statement? I haven’t seen anything about that yet and must of overlooked it.

i disagree but whatever. radar in any form is bogus
