I watched a video on Youtube whose speaker talked about one of his subscriber’s hoping 343 Industries would allow the player to customize or rather paint objects in Forge to better fit the environment of the selected map. For example, on a sand-like map, the player would be able to paint the structure, decorations, vehicles, etc. to match a sand environment. I think that would be a feature that would allow a lot of creativity. I would like to add to that idea by allowing the player to not only paint the objects in Forge but to also paint the map’s environment itself. Say we take Coagulation aka Blood Gulch aka Hemmorage, which is a sunny, grassy map. Now if the player could change that map to a snowy, cloudy, desert, raining, etc. scene, that could also offer creativity that wouldn’t limit a person’s choices of map customization. This is simply an opening example of possible suggestions for Halo 4. If you have any other kinds of ideas please share.
Remove the BR and Carbine. Add the Needle Rifle.
> Remove the BR and Carbine. Add the Needle Rifle.
Here’s a practical suggestion from the community: Get out.
Make sure there are subtitles during campaign and spartan ops so that people like my deaf cousin can enjoy the game.
From what we’ve seen the forge in Halo 4 looks like it was copy and pasted off Reach and tweaked a bit here and there. They even have most of the same forge objects in there as well.
To the guy that said remove BR, DMR, and carbine … I hope your joking

Tweeked a bit here and there? Did you even listen to 343i when they were talking about it? EVERYTHING is subject to change. They even said a lot of the forge pieces were placeholders, the menu was, even the ui was just a placeholder.
For me:
Spectator Mode- please
Colored forge palettes
4sk BR(not happening though
)
A sniper that isn’t easier than Reachs. How the hell did they even accomplish making the sniper easier than Reach? It takes true dev skill to pull of that one…
Camo as a pickup (also no happening)
Nerfing PV even more
Nerfing/removing Jet Pack
Secret Legendary campaign ending
That is all

Was this during the rooster teeth expo? I don’t recall them saying anything like that. All I remember was seeing the same forge pieces but with some new gadgets like lighting and magnetism.

Really? Cause I do, and I watched the LIVE stream, they clearly said “NONE OF THE UI IS FINAL, it’s all place holders.” As for the some of them I don’t care if they’re “copy and Past”, as long as they update the bump mapping, and give them textures to match the rest of the map. But a lot of the objects aren’t copy and pasted into Halo 4 from Reach, they was worked on a lot to add more detail.
I’d actually like to see a more true remake of Blood Gulch. Reach’s was familiar and nice, but still eh.
As for a sound reasonable request, can’t we just all dual-weild the SAW? Or better yet, dual weild the SAW with silencers on it? With blackjack and hookers? Actually, forget the dual weilding.
But in all seriousness again, I’d like to see the Jetpack concept improved. Not nerfed exactly, but different. Not sure what I mean by that myself.
Also, they definitely have a lot more they can do with Forge. Especially more with lighting and object skins, as previously mentioned.
Flood Combat Forms when infected in Infection!
4sk BR, or removal of 5sk BR
no Blood Gulch (can’t have it and the DMR in the same game; it’s either one or the other)
Sniper Rifle not act like Reach’s (super easy to use and somewhat unrewarding)
Elites in Multiplayer (Customs/Forge only works too)
Visible Ranking System or Invisible Progression System
Flood combat forms in Infection is a really great idea. There’s really no reason at all not to have it in, and it shouldn’t be that hard for 343i to add it in. Also it’d be pretty cool if 343i could possibly add new forge pieces to existing maps every once in a while. Weather options or maybe even cycles would also be pretty amazing.
Also I’ve been wanting this ever since H3 Forge, but PLEASE for the love of god, add in greenery as forge pieces, bushes and trees of different sizes and types is something that could make a map look amazing.

It’s time to retire that map, a true remake will be bad.

None of that is reasonable… dual wielding LMGs… that’s over powered as it is… Also, silencers, in Halo, useless, Silencers in games like COD and Battle Field, useful, but on a LMG, very annoying. In real life, Silencers are very useful, cause you don’t need ear pro to fire one with out killing your hearing.
> None of that is reasonable…
That was…Kind of the point! XD
You did see the part with blackjack and hookers, right?

It was a joke, and an obvious one at that. Lighten the hell up.
Flood combat forms in infection would make me feel like i’m playing L4D… I mean think about it… The carrier zombies explode (boomer) you got the jumpy ones (hunter) and the bigger ones (tank)… It would be a bit weird

Bender is great. B-ENDER. Bennnnndah-er.
OP: They’ve also stated that there will be 2 other forge levels shipping with the game, and hinted that they’ll put different tools at our disposal. Whether this means same palette across 3 maps, but different themed levels, or entirely new palettes (I’m hoping for a forerunner, UNSC, and Covie palette) we’ll see.

In all seriousness though, make sure we have wild life and many promethean classes and buildings to keep us satisfied, maybe even a few vehicles like the forerunner tank from Halo 2 that didn’t make it.

I know they said they’re not doing climate options but “rain” and “fog” could be environment effects, maybe. The only thing that would bug me about that is it would be inside as well. That would just look silly. I wish they were doing climate options though. That would be nice.
I was also thinking about the possible service record in Halo 4 as well. If by some chance 343 shows a type of ranking system like the BPR then I think it would be helpful to have an overall BPR rating that takes in all information from all multiplayer playlists and also specific BPR ratings and statistics from a particular playlist; more or less resembling the leaderboards in COD. This way for example, when people look at other players’ stats and see an overall BPR of 62 and a BTB BPR of 69, they know that in perhaps, CTF, the player’s performance may be lower than BTB which has a higher rating than their average. I know I and probably other people have looked at their friends’ BPR ratings (overall ratings) and thought that they aren’t the best choice to party up with to effectively play a match, but if there were specific settings, you could make a more reasonable judgment based on other players’ preferred gametypes or playlists.
