Community update was pretty positive

True, they did sneak that in there. Also geez you really sat through the whole thing? I just watched the IGN tl;dr

I don’t have time to watch over an hour and a half of rambling

I did, I was curious to see exactly what they had to announce/ show off outside of what they had already said or shown in regards to season 2.

I left confused why they even did the live stream.
We already knew everything.

That said there was a heavy focus on selling us merch. Tenurai shirts etc.
Maybe that’s what it was all about.

I don’t like the idea behind cross core… it’s like if you want tu put the spoiler of a Toyota on a Ferrari… but I agree that when you pay a very expensive cosmetic improvement, like for example Cat ears, you would like to use it on the whole of your Spartan Armour collections… and moreover at the moment the corse are ONLY 3… so they are ery few, if they with 5 or 6 corse, maybe people wouldn’t had the need of more variety and so to mix up cores…

You know Season 2 has 2 new cores in it yeah?
The one for the Lone Wolves and the new Fractured event. And that’s all we know of so far.
Which does bring us to 5.

Mk7,
Mk5- Reach,
Tenurai,
Lone Wolves,
Fracture.

5 cores already in 2 seasons.

Yes, so form me cores now become enough… I would agree on use some expensive aestetichs you buy from shop in every core, while specific seasonally eastetichs I think should stay only on their cores…

It’s already too many cores. Why can’t we just mix and match like Halo 5 and slap stuff on like Halo Reach? They had to go and make 10 years of cores. Bro. I can’t realistically imagine anyone wanting to collect 30 cores. Why would you do this 343? Just have body kits and cross-core, if you refuse to make torso, leg, and arm customization again like Halo 3, Halo 4, and Halo 2A which was WAY BETTER ANYWAY

Is there some sort of summary? 90 minutes of some excuses, vague promising and no dates are not worth watching…

They showed the new season, a few fixes that have made and promises are all they can really do right now.

I honestly tried to watch, but the CMs at the start are so insufferable, especially Uny, I’ve been BS’d by these guys too many times to take them seriously.

I wouldn’t expect them to. That basically one of the big problems plaguing the game right now. Probably will take a while to get fixed.

I wouldn’t say the reason they haven’t implemented it yet is because of pride. That takes a lot of testing and time. If it’s anything like the MCC server browser, that probably won’t be here till early season 4 or at the least late season 3.

It’s good that they adressed a lot of the technical issues throughout the stream. Of course the stuff being actually fixed would be better - however they basically stated those issues as one of the primary reasons for pushing S2 to 6 months again.

Narrative looks good but I’m not quite sure how it will actually tie into things in game. Well, just one week left to go. When you read all the blog posts a lot of it will have been info that’s already been known (outside of the Twitch Drops and the full BP walkthrough).

In the end it will come down to the Droppods and what kind of things they’ll be delivering with them (and at what intervals - they are aiming at monthly but that means we might go without ones).

As for the cross-core discussion: it was mentioned in a blog post and in the stream as being worked on. Canon cores will come first, stuff for the fracture cores (which have a completely different Geo) seems to be a bit up in the air. Seems we’ll get coatings first.

Do you realize the balls it takes to come out publicly and say," Hey, we messed up and know that what we released is unacceptable."

If you don’t, then sit down young man.

We’re getting crosscore.

Jerry literally said that they are moving away from the core system entirely

The stream very much validated for me the theory that they pushed this season so they can fix underlying issues first and foremost, without tying up people to work on content when there are underlying issues that would make it less fun to experience the content anyway. I know Joe is basically PR, but it was good to me to hear both him and Ske7ch just flat out say that the studio isn’t happy with the current state. That kind of candid honesty is appreciated.

I guess a lot of things will come down to the drop pods. I wouldn’t expect one every month - it sounds like they’re ramping up to the goal of one a month, but it’ll probably be sporadic at first, IMO. However, I think this is a necessary step to getting the systems for the rest of the game right, and is generally more important to me than the content. Here’s hoping the drop pods get some good work done.

Same.
Like Joe said, " Go slow now to go fast later."

The way Joe phrases that always makes my eye twitch because it’s something that I know most of the community won’t click on. I get that he’s talking about building momentum instead of trying to go fast right away and falling on your face, but I think so much of the community is just angry and looking for any little thing to pick at that the intent of his message is simply going to be lost on most people.

As an aside - I’m very curious about these narrative events. I’d love for them to be some form of PvE, but I’m concerned that they will be little more than cutscenes. I suppose we only have a week to wait to find out, but it would be nice to have proper expectations for what this is. Regardless, I’m very curious to know if these narrative events turn out to be canon, and if so, where they go.

There isn’t a TL;DR posted anywhere AFAIK, maybe a YouTube video? These are probably the biggest 3 takes:

They go over a bunch of mistakes they made and how they’re addressing it, such as the store, BP, and challenges. Some of these changes have already been implemented, but they’re gonna keep working on it.

They showcase the Season 2 core, Rakshaka, that has a far more generous free pass that isn’t just 93 challenge swaps and XP boost. IMO, the last few teirs were a little weak, excluding the helmet, but that’s getting off topic.

How they’re going to implement cross-core, probably starting with coatings, visors, and helmets. It should be noted that Fracture cores such as Yaroi are going to take longer for this feature as a whole.

Aside from that, they showed off part of the intro cinematic and showed off the BTB map, I don’t recall them going to in depth about any other major issues or anything too technical really.

Just finished watching it.

Battle Pass looked excellent. I loved the duct tape on some of the armour pieces. Brilliant. Some nice coatings. And those shoulder skulls! Meh to the double XP (the battle pass ticks over fast enough) and the challenge swaps (I still have 38 of them).

The two maps looked awesome. I know it’s not enough… and in a month or so we will be starving for more. But right now - they look great.

Looking forward to King of the Hill (old fave). And Last Man Standing!

And I especially loved the positive chat they had about Forge. I know they didn’t say much - but you could see they were beaming with pride.
