Patch preview:

> CHANGING THE GAME
>
> Also on the horizon for Halo Wars 2 is a collection of updates and bug fixes, all designed to improve player experience in a wide range of areas. While we’re still nailing down the final details for the impending patch notes, we grabbed (gently) Clay Jenson from the Halo Wars 2 team to give us a quick overview on what players can expect to be addressed. Here’s a sneak peek!
>
> • Hero units enhanced to make them quicker to field, tougher, and more powerful when upgraded.
> • Player gamertag and rank hidden in pre-match screens.
> • Banished shield stacking bonuses reduced.
> • Garrison bonuses reduced for hero units.
> • Tuning pass for Tier 2 Vehicles to increase their punch and cost-effectiveness.
> • Scout units adjusted to bring them more in line with each other.
> • Supply Pad upgrade time reset.
> • Saved game bug fixed and game progress restored for affected players.
> • Maximum Camera scroll and fast scroll speeds increased.
> • Alternative unit sub-selection control added (RT+Y)

Cool

Neat.

Nice.

Good!

Well done

Thanks, glad too finally see this. The patch looks very helpful. And that name, “Know Scope”, it’s perfect.

I wonder if they finally fixed the hunter/hunted achievement to be what it’s supposed to be.

Great.

Great. Now I have no choice but to get stomped by Party Teams running their sweaty builds😒

Yay for alternative unit sub-select control!

I don’t understand that change. Can you explain what that means?

My guess instead of cycling through all the units with RT, we can use our thumbstick to select units, similar to selecting blitz cards.

Not a 100% on what it does. But I think it will mean faster unit type selection. A fix for the non-responsive RT select controls.

Don’t count on it… The notes say “RT+Y” so it’s still an RT style control.
I would love to use the thumbstick. In fact, I would love if they replaced this menu with the selection wheel.

I think it’s a way to fire all Y abilities instead of spamming Y

That would be nice, so then instead of mashing the Y button with your marine or grunt ball when reaching an enemy base, you can get them to throw all their nades at once to do extra damage to buildings.

I’m guessing this will release on Monday? What do you all think?

Looking good, but they should have also further addressed the ATN/Season Pass debacle… They really need to explain things there.

I’m loving Jerome, but will have to wait and see since I loved Johnson too before I got my hands on him.

Edit: Taking it back. I’m already seeing issues with his Omega team, not to mention there wasn’t anything about the Grizzlies or Colossus in that update that I saw.

Omega team takes up 36 pop., which is essentially an Ultimate unit. Three Spartans or Two hijacked Scorpions aren’t going to be winning in any fights vs an ultimate unit, nor can I imagine 3 hijacked Scorpions winning vs 8+ Scorpions.

With their pop cost they make his earlier ability (under 35 pop.) useless and they cost far too much to be useful I imagine.
