How many people remember the days of trying to impress Bungie with forge maps, community videos, or highest kill count with a weapon in a special playlist to unlock the coveted Recon armor? What about the star emblem in Halo Reach? To me these where fun. They game me a sense of purpose that went far beyond trying to achieve a high KD or win/lose ratio.
For Halo Infinite I would love to see fun community rewards/unlocks return. Special armors, emblems, and nameplates to strive towards. Fun community playlists like the Saint Valentines Day massacre playlist during the Halo 3 days. Something that is unique for the most loyal of fans.
So what do you guys think? Would you like to see these fun community rewards/unlocks return in Halo Infinite? Would you work hard to impress 343i for a unique set of armor, emblem, or nameplate? Let me know. I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas.
I agree I like unlocking stuff through achievements, gave it more meaning. Well I think MCC has done us right with that. Maybe they will take back that thing about microtransactions in infinite after MCC.

Recon armor was obtained from the Vidmaster achievements. Had nothing to do with what you stated.
To get to your point, I would love to see achievement/difficulty/completion oriented armor/unlocks. I thought Helioskrill was gonna be this but alas, they made it obtainable by everyone. Had they not, I would rock it to this day. Just like I did in H3 with my Recon helmet, Katana body, and security shoulders.

No way they’re giving up all that sweet cash money. I just hope the microtransactions aren’t too intrusive.

True the Vidmaster was the set path to Recon in Halo 3. However Bungie was know to give Recon to special member of the community.

I thought they stated there were gonna be any microtransactions being pay by your money for stuff in infinite?

I know I heard they said no loot boxes, which is great, but I never heard anything about no microtransactions. Could totally have missed an interview or something though.

I’m not a hundred percent sure but I don’t think Infinite will have microtransactions.
I do hope the community engagement is turned up a notch during Infinite’s life cycle. One of my favorite things during Halo 5 was watching the community play sessions on Mixer and trying to find 343 in game (though I haven’t succeeded… yet!)

I swear I remembered reading somewhere that it will have them. But they were supposed to be not as intrusive as halo 5.
