So I posted this back when Halo 5 launched but it got washed away in the sea of new game excitement posts so I decided to bring it back.
I was thinking why not hold a community Weapon/Vehicle skin contest where people could enter their own skins to be voted on and the top picks could be added via community REQ packs.
Infact with the way armours are in set now we could technically do an armour skinning contest as well like who can make the best Fotus reskin.
I think this would be a fantastic way for 343 to get more involved with the community.
many other games have done this in the past and its been pretty popular. 343 could give out UV templates for the specific skin then set a theme for example Flood and then people could enter their own skins based on the theme. So imagine an AR covered in the infection splattered on the rifle or cracked ammk display.
343 could either release free community req packs or do limited payed runs like the HCS req packs and as long as they specified what texture maps are needed, resolution and formatting then they wouldn’t even need to do a lot of work to implement the skins.
Anyway just an idea that I would love to see at some point, unlikely to happen but hey worth a shot.
