I have to say, this is one of the weirdest communities i have met. You guys complain about everything and anything that 343 does, its pathetic. You guys really need to learn to adapt, because the game will change if and when change is needed. Be prepared to change with it rather than complain about it. Its sad to see that such a great game series has such a horrible, back stabbing, complaining fan base.
Here is something that i have posted on a number of threads, please read.
The game wont stay the same guys. Games have to evolve, to grow, to become better. WHat i hate about the halo community these days is they wont let it become better. They keep asking for the same game over and over again. they ask for a reskin of a game that up until reach had recieved hate after hate. The company is toiling itself over things it doesnt even want because it has no idea any longer of what the fans want. They have no idea because people keep contradicting itself over everything the company does, hate after hate.
Could you imagine that everything you do, everything you put hard hours into just recieved hate? No matter what you do, no matter what you try, hate. You guys wonder why 343 is doing different htings and not really listening to the community. We have probably driven them up the wall by now because they cant seem to do anything you guys like. Can we all just trust 343 to do it right so that they can do it right?
343i said outright that they will not be taking a step back to halo 3, they will be moving past reach, they will do something compeltely new and innovative. Can we not trust them to do those things right?
The series is going to evolve guys, so either you evolve with it, or you get left behind. Because its not going to wait, its going to keep on rolling its way back up to the top. so you can either step on, or step off.
Your choice, but the game will never stay the same.
If it was something so minuscule as “adapting” then I think a lot of people would be quiet. However, “adapting” is a joke all you need is a couple hours in Forge and Theater and you basically can adapt to anything.
Dude, you added me to your buddies list like, 3 weeks ago… And anyway, no, im not new here… Not super new at least. I was simply making an observation about the community around me. And lest face it, 90 % of these guys may be loyal fan base, but they need to learn that the game is not going to be a remake, and that its going to move forward and add new things wheteher they like it or not.

I’m pretty sure the loyal fan base doesn’t want a remake, they want a balanced game that doesn’t have perks and custom loadouts. Is that really so much to ask?
Bashing and complaining about people complaining? You might very well be right. We definitely are a wierd community. Someone criticises something, right after somone makes a thread criticising the person who criticised whatever they were criticising. Weird indeed.
But seriously, complaining about people who criticise 343i’s work isn’t right way to go if you want this community to change. While the complaints may not be worded in the best possible way, believe or not, they still have valid points. This is an open place to criticise anything and everything about the game. If you want to imagine that Halo is perfect, you may very well ignore the complaints. Complaining about people who complain won’t help anyone, at best it makes you a hypocrite.
But the main point: you aren’t helping. Those people at least talk about the game and not other people, they stay on-topic.
While I’m not sure this is the right section for this, since it isn’t directly about Halo 4, I gotta say that I do agree with you. Ever since end Halo 2-Halo 3, the community has started to become infested with little kids who always demand to get what they want, and when they get it they’ll still complain about not getting enough.
It’s like this in every aspect of the average kid’s life these days, not only in the world of Halo. Back when I was a kid, I was never given tons of iPods and iPads and Xbox 360s by my parents. No, I had to work to buy myself those pretty things (which, back in the day, wasn’t video games and fancy electronics).
The point is, the kids of this generation are used to getting more and more, and then complaining about the small things. They’d rather enter a giant uproar about everything rather than patiently wait to see how things will actually turn out, rather being impatient and demanding than calm and logical.
Of course, it’s not only the kids that are complaining, since there are a few older members that were playing since Halo 1 that claim to be superior and all-knowing, and there are some younger kids who aren’t plagued by constant greed and neediness, but the older members will have grown up in a generation where being spoiled wasn’t as common as it is today, and will realize that, even if they don’t want the game to change too much, it doesn’t mean it’s not going to be good. I guess all we need to know is that the Halo community is one of the whiniest gaming communities of our generation.

… Well, yes and no. As long as it is balanced, the competitive community should be happy. Cant we trust 343 to implement the new features in such a way that the game is still balanced? And from what i have seen from most of the competitive commmunity, they want no sprint, loadouts, perks etc. They dont want any of the new items, and simply want the old movements speed back. I dont know about you, but that sounds like a halo 3 re skin to me.

Really? It sounds like sticking to the core Halo concept to me cough H:CE-3cough.

Im not complaining. I am observing and merely stating my opinion. You guys can go ahead and complain all you want, i dont care. I am merely trying to point out the flaws in your complaints. 343 said early on that they werrent taking a step back, they were moving forward. Now, after the first tidbit we know about halo 4 people are alread asking them to re skin halo 3 and that the new changes suck. They dont even know anything about the new changes yet, so asking 343 to get rid of them is just silly. Im not sure how sharing my opinion is being a hypocrit, and i did not once complain. You guys are free to do whatever you want, i just wanted you guys to see the lack of sense in it. And we cant exactly criticise things we know almost nithing about can we. you guys are entitled to your opions as am i. and no, halo is not perfect, but re skinning halo 3 wont make it perfect either.
Can we please just trust 343 to set up things right rather than hash them out every step of the way?
bring on the change, i want to have to learn how to play halo again, like i did when i picked up CE, then again in H2, and again in H3 and again in reach… unlike COD where i can go back and forward between titles skipping titles while im at it and know immediately how to play well, its boring when its predictable.

Hmm, yeah, you can stick with the core concept as long as you allow new things added to it. Cough cough, halo 2 cough Can we not just trust them to implement the change rigth while still keeping the core gameplay the same?
halo fans really have to be the hardest critics in the world they all seem to hate one thing over another and love what some else hates, your not allowed to have opinion if you say one thing good about it there is post criticizing you for liking it if say something bad about it the very same person criticizes you for not liking it
Actually, im not really new. So thats kind of a redundant statement. Try coming up with something original next time, instead of copying someone elses post, thanks.
And anyway, the topic is the way the community acts, not how “new” i am. The community just needs to stop and consider, rather than instantly blaclist the game because they saw something that they know nothing about. Yeah, im new to the forum, but im not new to the community, or BNET, or halo.
Please, jsut let 343 handle the game, or at least wait until we know more about these new items instead of instantly flaming them.

Yup. SPeculatings good, people complaining about the game and everyhting in it even though they know nothing about it however… The gaming community as a whole just like making the producers run around in circles and contradict themselves over everthing…
