Community maps in MM yes no or only some

Do you guys wnat community maps or not, or maybe only ones that were tested thru and thru for and screw ups cough Broadcastcough, thoughts?

Since the problems with Reach’s Forge maps appear to be fixed, I’m in favor of well-tested community maps being in all playlists.

The more (good) maps the merrier!

I would say about 3 months after release.

I don’t mind community maps, but it got really annoying because that’s all you could pick in most playlist. I stopped playing most playlists because of that.

I’m all for having community-made maps in matchmaking, but they must undergo rigorous testing and regular updates to ensure they provide an optimal gameplay experience. There is no room for half-a**ed maps here.

You know what I’d like to see? Different background shots for the forge map. Not just that beach shot every time. “So let’s see, a beach, a beach, and a beach… great game huh?” You could set one that was the Coliseum, one that was a Beach, one that was a forest shot, etc. Just so you could create some differences and people might be able to recognize “Oh yeah, that one arena map? That’s got the picture of the coliseum”.

They should just have one playlist with ONLY community maps. Keep them out of the rest of matchmaking.

I think a “Custom Map Thumbnails” feature would be more useful.

That had a lot to do with Reach’s forge pallet. In Halo 4, we get three unique pallets on three separate forge environments. That should fix the problem.

My biggest problem is I have trouble remembering which map is which. Could we have actual screenshots. I don’t think it would take too much extra code to add a “screenshot camera” to Forge. You would only need one, and it could update every time you save.

I’m a fan of community maps. I would have stopped playing reach a long time ago if it was just the on disc maps. I think even the bad ones add a little spice to MM. I’ve got all DLC and i still rarely see those come up. If they do they’re usually voted against anyway. I’m hoping that the other 2 forge maps have different palettes, just for more variety.

I think they should wait at least 4 months, and I think they should have their own playlist. With only the creame de la creame being brought into matchmaking proper. Only a few reach maps would qualify for this. Crown of Flies and Treasury are two standouts. IMO both are amazing maps, just as good as any “official” maps for Reach.

Custom is nice, but custom thumbnails would actually have to load up for each player instead of simply being called from a cache. Just another thing slowing down game load up.

the only thing i hope is that the structures dont have warped physice that cause your wraith to shoot to the moon(literally), thats my only concern that the covvie vehicles will go flying sky high because theres a 2 inch bump. they need VERY extensive testing, i dont want to teleport to narnia for walking over a crevice

Tbe honest i’d like to just play more actual maps, i’ve ended up on pinnacle too many times now.

Yes, more is better and since the old days of gaming where you got 20+ maps and a full editor is gone, allowing what we can have, a few Forge maps, is still a step in the right direction. I can agree that some maps are horrible and I would say they need to be tested over and over, maybe have double exp weekend on new forge maps, let the community try them and the once that work fine, is used in MM even afterwards.

I think they should have a play list dedicated to the community made maps, and maps that are very popular can get voted to be added to the other play lists.
