Community maps: Framerate Drop in splitscreen

I don’t really know where exactly to post this topic since the forums don’t seem to have a specified section for the reporting of problems. Maybe it would be a good idea to implement a forum called something like “Bugs and suggestions”…

Basically, I want to report a performance problem I have encountered last weekend when playing splitscreen with a friend. While usually everything was okay, things started to go bad as soon as we hit a community map (e.g. “Rail”, but other new maps had the same problem) on Team Doubles. Every time when we started to play a forged map in that splitscreen session, we experienced a significant framerate drop (/lag?). This prevented us from taking a good aim and erased every thought about a proper headshot. It just felt like if our Spartans were “drunk”, the crosshair didn’t move precisely…

The result was, that we were at a great disadvantage. Although I highly appreciate the introduction of community forged maps, I have to admit that I can only enjoy playing them when the performance is appropriate. So it would be nice, if someone at 343i could try to solve this problem.

Just to specify: my Xbox is hard-wired and usually receives a decent signal, so a connection problem is not the case. Also, all older maps went fluently.

I would like to know, if anybody else has encountered such problems lately. If so, please comment, so we can find out, if this is a common and therefore major issue.

This problem has been vocalized by many. It started with the Forge test playlist. If you are playing doubles with a guest they made the very left map choice one of the original maps that won’t lag. So you can always choose it and get lag free games.

> Sorry to hear about your experience. Just so you know, on-disc maps are in the first voting slot in Team Doubles. By offering slightly modified versions of Haven, Abandon and Solace, split-screen players have the option to play on a map that offers the best split-screen experience. Hopefully that will help your situation, even if a teeny-tiny bit.
