Are these still a thing? I remember way back when in Halo:Reach, 343 employees, forum mods and such advertised frequent game nights, where forum users could join up, or were encouraged to make their own. Are these still a thing? I do notice the one sticky thread offering gold pack rewards, which is pretty cool, but it seems to lack the scale and involvement that the older game nights in Reach offered (absolutely no offense intended to the organisers, of course).
It’d be a nice thing to see, a sort of strengthening of the community of these forums with weekly scheduled games, seeing as a lot of posts I’ve seen recently have been lamenting at the poor performance or conduct of random players. It seems to me that less and less people these days are playing Halo with groups of friends. I myself have spent literally less than 1% of my game time in Halo 5 with friends. They’ve all moved on to Destiny (bleugh) and out of the hundreds of players I run in to daily, perhaps five of those will have mics. Seriously. And even then they’re just younger players lamenting over some form of divine curse placed upon them, or insinuating that they’re my father. Maybe it’s just my bad luck online, but I feel that the community aspect of Halo 5 is in a rut as of late…
Oh and I’ve been booted from more custom games I found in the browser than I’ve completed. They weren’t a fan of “late joiners” or whatever…
