A few weeks ago, we had a playlist for a second go-around with Community Forge Maps. It had about 5 or 6 maps I believe, and two which, IMO were phenomenal. They were called Onyx and Confined.
Onyx looks beautiful for a forge map, and is reminiscent of Halo 2’s Midship. It’s pretty much Simplex, except nicer looking and just flat out better.
Confined was a Narrows like map from Halo 3. It was a great CTF map.
Can we get some of these forge maps throughout these playlists?
I’m GUESSING that they have been more conservative about adding forge maps than in Halo Reach simply because the 360 struggles with the graphical demands of Halo 4. I’m not sure if it was adding dynamic lighting to forged objects or what, but graphical lag is an issue for large forge maps in single player and even the smallest of maps for split screen.
I expect and hope to see much better forge implementation once the Xbox One has more than enough processing power for Halo 5.
