This was first tried in halo reach but wasnt followed through with, only appearing in the “community” playlist for about a month. I believe it would be beneficial to the overall experience of the war games if user created maps were submitted, voted on and then implemented into a playlist. Now im not talking about about griffball, or flood. But gametypes such as doubles and infinity slayer, and possibly BT Slayer.
When I play doubles or 4v4 slayer I find myself playing Haven literally 8 out of the 10 games that I play. and I myself, am getting sick of the that map very quickly. With the introduction of doubles a couple of weeks ago came Scythe, and Dispatch. My favorite of the two being scythe has been a refreshing addition to the rotation, but one map cant hold out the needs of the community forever.
343i has been moving somewhat quickly to dish out map packs. Crimson Map pack was in my opinion a wash because it didnt support much of anything in terms of competitiveness. And since it takes them months to do anything I think calling on the communities best map makers to give us new maps while others are being developed will help with the rather dry experience that Halo 4 is now.
343i should set up a submission center where players can download maps that the community ha submitted. sort of a “bungie favorites” but with maps.
